Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No useful info here. Just a rant about a dealer. Found a beautiful 99 C4 Cab, decent mileage, clean carfax. Waited a couple of weeks (dumb) to see if I could find something closer, but didn't. Finally called to get more specs and whadya-know, it's been sold. Damn. What's that you said? It was sold 3 weeks ago? Why is it still on your website? Why does it still show up on cars.com? Regardless, it's gone. Or is it? A check on CarFax says that no new owner has registered yet? Just what is going on here? When they told me it was sold, they quickly offered to help find another. Is that what they're doing? Using this ad as a bait-and-switch for business? Pisses me off for 1) Me acting too slow & 2) Them acting unprofessionally. Rant mode off. I'm off the soap box... tom

POST 2Original post

Learn from your mistake. Don't buy from stealer...um I mean dealer.

POST 3Original post

I could see being a little irate about it still being on their website, but to go from that to saying it never existed and was just a bait-and-switch based on a carfax report alone is ridiculous. Furthermore, Carfax's records are not updated immediately either, it is entirely plausible that the new owner took their time going to the DMV and it just hasnt been updated yet.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm not saying it never existed. I just want listings to be accurate so I don't waste time & energy on something that's no longer available. Like I said, I'm just pissed off, not irate. I've missed out on a good car already. I don't want to miss another one. Maybe I should look into car brokers. tom

POST 5Original post

Which dealer is it? Is the cars.com ad still up after you told them? thanks, Amir

POST 6Original post

Just keep looking. There are plenty of 99s out there at a good price I'm sure.

POST 7Original post

I found that many dealers leave stale ads on as long as possible just for the exposure. Dupont Registry is the worst for this type of advertising.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here's their ad: http://www.bavarianmotorsport.com/in...a56b288e4026f8 And the cars.com ad: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...llerFirst=true tom

POST 9Original post

side comment... the dealer i bought my C2 from is Nxcess in TX. They are always on EBAY and have low mileage cars at good prices. I only say this as i see alot of dealers local and online screwing people way to high in the prices. my 2 coins
