Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Slaaw: Yeah, those bushing were a bit awkward......I used a new/sharp exacto blade and just pushed down really hard on each white little bushing tab.....had those little white pieces all over the floor.

The only thing that didn't work initially was reverse but after adjusting the cables, it worked fine and the other 6 gears even shifted in better than stock.

Suggestion · Original poster

I would say the hardest part for me was figuring out how to adjust the cables (as i marked them prior to removal) after messing with them for awhile, the light finally came on and I was easily able to dial them into the exact location they were in before.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Finally did my first Mod (well second actually, clear side markers) Install went pretty smoothly......I don't know how you guys do it in under an hour your first time? Took me a bit longer, of course as soon as I settle in to the job.....the phone starts ringing, people start dropping by, etc etc. Anyway, I just took my time and everything went good. I would say the hardest part for me was figuring out how to adjust the cables (as i marked them prior to removal) after messing with them for awhile, the light finally came on and I was easily able to dial them into the exact location they were in before. I must say, it's a really big improvement over stock, the feel is really nice, shorter throw and just a better overall driving experience, IMO. I'm really happy with it. Would recommend it just as most others here have reported. Oh yeah, had to get the door handle key plug.....that makes 3 offical mods so far. Next mods will be fabspeeds and row030.........

POST 2Original post

Following up on your B&M SSK install experience, I received my B&M SSK yesterday and installed it in the evening. The process took me about 2 hours, and contrary to what some others on the forum have said, I found it more difficult to swap the shifter itself from the tray than the center console R&R. Removing the plastic clips that hold the bushing was a pain. I took my time and everything went in well w/o the necessity of any redo's. The only thing that didn't work initially was reverse but after adjusting the cables, it worked fine and the other 6 gears even shifted in better than stock. There's a distinct "snap" when entering all 6 forward speeds with a solid stop and firm feel to it. Now other stick shift cars will never be the same again as they all will now feel like rowing boat oars.

POST 3Original post

I think DIY mod times are a little like fishing stories, golf scores and lap times. Nobody want to admit that they spent two hours trying to fish a washer out of the hole they dropped it into or getting some frick'in clip to line-up but it happens to all of us. Jim

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Too funny, I was kind of thinking the same thing, but I'm new around here. Slaaw: Yeah, those bushing were a bit awkward......I used a new/sharp exacto blade and just pushed down really hard on each white little bushing tab.....had those little white pieces all over the floor. Very good mod.......

POST 5Original post

It took me about 2 minutes to remove the bushings. I used a sharp chisel and a hammer. One "tap" on each bushing tab and out it flew.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
