Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Actually I've wondered this many times as well...I think that it may have something to do with the fact that they're still running the 3.4L in Grand Am in which case the taco would be the correct factory option wing for the 3.4 cars?

Suggestion
The Mustang and GTOs are essentially cup cars while the Porsches are not even allowed to run the X51.
Use "taco" rear wing rather than the aerokit ii wing

I've noticed at Grand Am Cup events that the 996's in these events always tend to use the "Taco" rear wing rather than the Aerokit II wing.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anyone know why that is?
Because the Flying Taco rules!!!...

I bet JimB would know the answer for sure though.

That's what I thought at first too...BUT look at these two photos...not the best in the world but if you look closely it would appear as though these cars are facelift cars with taco wings.
Most of the 996 cars are running 3.6L motors. The aero package will depend on what GA has approved. They are all about an "even" playing field. What "even" really means is up to debate as GAC is dominated by Ford and BMW. There are plenty of Porsches in the field but there have been very few outright race wins by a Porsche.
Here's the rule book.

I'm pretty sure the MKII is not allowed because it was never available as an option on a 996. The MKI was. I have the same issue in Club Racing.
The Porsches have done great in Grand Am Cup considering the huge advantages that the Mustangs, GTOs and BMWs have had over the past couple of years. The Mustang and GTOs are essentially cup cars while the Porsches are not even allowed to run the X51. That said, it makes for some pretty good racing no matter how hard it is to watch a Ford driving right past a Porsche on the straights. It wouldn't be a very interesting series if all cars were allowed the same mods and the Porsche won every week.

It's Synergy Racing's package for turning a 997 into a grand am cup car. It's pretty interesting to see the mods that go into the car. It might give you some good, although expensive, ideas.
If you can find it in an order guide I would be very grateful. I looked though 2004 and it's not there. Obviously you can order the GT3 parts and put them on an 02+ car but I don't think you could order it that way from the factory like you could with the MKI.
