Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking at a couple of 01-02 cars with the full out Carbon Fiber package (dash, wheel, console, door handles, instrument surround).
I wonder from those who have had it if they've had problems as it ages. I attached a picture of one where there is some curling around the air vent area. Would this be an easy repair with some good interior trim cement?
Also, I'm somewhat sensitive to creaks and squeaks from the interior. Do you find the CF bits to be any worse than the standard plastic trim bits?
Thanks for the insights.
Keith
I think it's all OEM as the original option codes show "air vents", "defroster vent cover" among other things as well as the window sticker shows the Carbon Package.
I hate little nits that make cars look cheap. I'm hoping this stuff can be reglued.

The problem with the CF pieces is that over time, exposure to the elements (uv, heat, etc) they discolor, crack, etc. The only problem is that I haven't seen a factory piece peel. I assumed they were a solid piece. You can see the plastic under it which leads me to believe it is stick on CF and not factory.
Replacing the vents is easy. Buying a CF replacement though is not cheap.
The option codes under hood show among a bunch of others: XKD- CF side Vent, XKJ-CF Defroster Trim.
Asusme some good quality interior adhesive could take care of this.
How about creaks from the trim pieces? Any more than the normal hard plastic?

Doesn't necessarily mean those are still in the car. If they were damaged over the last 8-9 years the previous owner might have gone the cheap route for replacement. Hopefully somebody with the CF vents can chime in as to their construction.
