Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

For track events I run 235/40 and 295/30 MPSCs, but they are mounted on a custom set of CCW Classic 3-piece racing wheels in 18x9.0"/18x11.0".

I am running 235/40/18 and 295/30/18 tires on my 01 C4, but I have wheels made for a GT3.

I would personally stick with stick size tires unless changing wheels.

I am currently running 225/40/18's on my 7.5 front wheels.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The stock tire size on a GT3 is 235/40/18 and 295/30/18. So considering that the GT3 is a narrow body, it should work. What I don't t know is whether these tires will fit on your 18" stock cab rims. I am running 235/40/18 and 295/30/18 tires on my 01 C4, but I have wheels made for a GT3.

Yes and yes. As long as your rim size is at least 8" in the fornt and 10" in the rear. The 11" rear would be preferable but the 10" will hold a 295 just fine.
Yes, you have stock 18" wheels for an 01'. I would personally stick with stick size tires unless changing wheels. You can swap to 285/30's in back since this is a normal factory fitting on a 10" rim for 02'+. Over tiring stock wheels can cause issues like tramlining and inconsistant handling. For track events I run 235/40 and 295/30 MPSCs, but they are mounted on a custom set of CCW Classic 3-piece racing wheels in 18x9.0"/18x11.0".
would a 225/40/18 front and a 285/30/18 rear work well? I realize that you sort of answered this, but would that rear configuration be considered over tiring? Also would there be a significant difference in handling from the 265's?
That's the standard configuration on the 2002 cars, but they did have the 8in front wheel. I'm not sure I'd push it since the 225/40 on an 8in wheel is going to be a bit more stable. But, yes, it's doable. Frankly, you're not going to gain that much with a 285 on the rear unless you're planning on tracking soon anyhow (but agreed it feels out the rear better). So, are you?
