So...while I was getting the MAF replaced at my local indy (see saga here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/290269-a-wierd-one-psm-and-abs-lights-come-on.html ) I decided to have him put in the Revo Technik free 5-hour test drive and boy am I impressed. It really seems to marry the upgraded exhaust to the K&N CAI (still not sure if that is staying given the MAF issue). That being said, I have no actual proof that my HP have increased but I know that throttle response is off the chart. However, I now must ask myself what are the other options like as for price versus performance??? Has anyone tried more than 1 chip-tuning option in the same car? Has anyone had a negative experience with any of the options? Looking for input from others with some experience here. TIA, Jeff

I tried (understaement) the Revo software. The "touchy" throttle response was only an illusion. The car made LESS HP in the upper midrange and top end. Your foot will adapt to the throttle sensitivity pretty quickly or you can have your Revo dealer set the throttle sensitivity to a stock setting which will give you a more apples-to-apples comparison. I am currently looking at GIAC and Upsolute as my experience with Revo was totally unsatisfactory (and expensive).

Actually, when I was talking throttle response I was talking about the ability of the car to rev (and therefore accelerate) from 2.5-3K up to 7K in a flash. Maybe this is the wrong term. Did you actually dyno the car with the Revo chip? and does anybody else with a NA car have upgraded software?

I've done the Unichip piggyback on a 996 NA. Did not dyno the results however so i can't give you any concrete gain numbers. Customer was pleased and hasn't returned the chip yet. I'm suprised that Revo would release such a substandard flash, they are quite successful in the VW world.

I have the REVO on my 05 S4 and it's awesome. I did it at the same time as a cat back exhaust. It really woke up the car. Worth every penny.
