Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know the stock seats, both in a Boxster and 911s are good (even great) but I've sat in the sport seats and they're awesome and I think they look better too. They also don't seem to be as outrageously priced an option compared to most from Porsche. Thoughts?

POST 2Original post

Are the sport seats the ones with the painted back?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes. With the nicer contouring and shoulder level bolstering.

POST 4Original post

They are great and so glad I ordered them, I guess allot of people just dont know better until they sit in them. Fewer have the Porsche crest on them, and even fewer are heated. I love my seats I will never go with out.

POST 5Original post

Because too many Porsches are bought for reasons of image, and those buyers value form (or more specifically, a badge) over function.

POST 6Original post

Sports seats fit me perfectly but if you are large or small they are not very comfortable. I think that's why so few cars have them. Nice first post.

POST 7Original post

I have them w/P crests. Love them it was one of the options i was looking for. 99C4 Coupe Blk/blk

POST 8Original post

I think they look 100% better, especially with the body color backs. I also think that they are overall more comfortable on long trips. Here is a pic of mine. https://rennlist.com/forums/attachme...chmentid=88788

POST 9Original post

Wish I had a different color car so painting them would make sense.

POST 10Original post

See, that's why we're all a little different. Not such a big fan of the body color painted backs. It's like bringing the outside of the car inside with you. I much prefer the plush look of the leather. That said, do they offer the sport seats with a leather back in the sport seat option?

POST 12Original post

HOLY CRAP!!!! Been on the board since Dec 2003 and this is the first post??? Confused.

POST 13Original post

Noticed that, too, Dell. Weird. I found the sport seats too confining for the street. I like the shoulder freedom and adjustability of the power seats. Sport seats also push my shoulders forward a bit. Not bad for track, no good for the sunday drive. I bought the 987S originally as a track toy. Even then I did not order the sport seats. It would be inadequate for a track car. I got the basic S seat, with the plan to buy racing Recaros or GT3 seats sometime down the line. The irony of it is, I now like the 87S better as a runabout topdown street car, and am working on the C4S as a track car. Who knows. I may still get the GT3 seats for the 987S, and go get the whole GT3 CAR .

POST 14Original post

In the immportal words of Dell, DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!

POST 15Original post

immportal??? But I do agree with the DO IT portion Can't wait till this summer when the GT3 prices dive into the 70s!

POST 17Original post

You guys are a baaaaaaad influence!!! (Keep pushing )

POST 21Original post

I'm not a very large person some might say average 6' and I don't find them conforming to my body shape very well. Then again I'm not that fond of the standard seats I have in my 996 either. I just think the lumbard and bolster on both seats are in the wrong place for me. I am considering getting the Cobra Mistrano, but I'm not that fond of a aftermarket seat in my car or really want to take out a perfectly fine seat out either.

POST 22Original post

Thanks for the pic. The seat looks nice. Looks like it holds you in the seat tighter and molds to form. I will consider those, I have been wanting to replace my stock seats.
