Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My only advice when shipping a car using a carrier is to take lots of pictures of the car before shipping it.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Need to ship from So. Cal to Michigan. Any companies to absolutely stay away from?
Also considering shipping open trailer instead of enclosed. Aside from some extra dirt to wash off, any other negatives?
Thanks
Just shipped my C4S from Vancouver to Toronto with Hansen's (enclosed rail car). Total transit time 11 days. $1050 CAD. Excellent service and online tracking. Nearest enclosed truck quote was $1800 CAD.
Car was spotless when I got it last week.
I would suggest doing a search. This was just discussed recently right here on this very 996 forum. FYI.....that thread resulted in me choosing to go with Intercity. Anybody who has the sole responsibility of transporting the CGT for PCNA has my business!
I have heard a lot of PCA members and Rennlisters have very high satisfaction with

I've read a lot of good reviews and recommendations.
You could get an estimate from that website of the cost.
I shipped my 996 cab from MI to CA 1.5 yr ago on open truck with National Autoshipper. The dirt made finding any scratch or chip impossible. Luckily, car turned out as described. I'd recommend enclosed. Definitely load on top carrier.
Make sure the insurance coverage has a low deductible (preferable zero). Most shippers are brokers and will find a truck that is willing to take the car for a price. If the quote you get is too low, the car will sit for weeks and no truck will pick it up. By then, the broker already has a deposit for you are prompted to pay more. Consider this when you shop prices. Cheaper isn't always better.
My only advice when shipping a car using a carrier is to take lots of pictures of the car before shipping it. I found some damage on my car when I received it and having pictures helped with the claim.
When I shipped, it was from enclosed to enclosed delivery. What I didn't know is that depending on the amount of stops they make, they loaded/unloaded a few times. There wasn't much room on the trailer and watching him get in and out of the car was a painful sight. I said what about dinging the doors when you open it (he was a bigger guy). And his reply was, "I go through the window so I don't have to open the door." OMG! I didn't need to hear that.
I would call Tay at BT auto. They brought my car to me in Houston from New Jersey enclosed carrier for about $1,600. Fantastic service and very up fron about the cost, and arrival days.
