Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
If the door is gone for good, then I'd just recommend removing the newer label.

Years ago a deer ran into my drivers side door...denting it badly....door was replaced with a donor.....and with it came the sticker...evidently now I have 2 different vin #'s on the car...the one on the dash (real)....and another on the door (replaced door)....not that is killing me, BUT I would like to replace the door sticker....I know I can just remove the existing and call it a day...but I prefer to remove it and replace with the "real" vin #....have anyone used this service for a 996?.....

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

An internet search found a sticker of a vin about 225 numbers higher than mine....hence I assume mine was built on November or December 1998. I have the original documentation for the car...and it was first inspected at the dealer with 20 miles on 2/17/99
This is the sticker on the door from the donor car
Internet search found this vin #....about 225 higher than mine...hence I assume mine has a build date of 11/98 or 12/98
Dealer delivery inspection of my car
If its of any help for a date reference, the VIN on my 99 is 623653 and was built in 9/98.
NVM: your car must be a Carrera 4 or a convertible because the beginning of the VIN is different than mine.
Hindsight is 20/20, but I would have recommended that you remove the original vin sticker from the damaged door. Those can be professional removed using mild solvent and heat without damaging the label or bending it. If the door is gone for good, then I'd just recommend removing the newer label. It doesn't line up with the car. I'm not sure if there is any way to reproduce it. I know there was a guy on the forums producing hood option stickers and I think he was venturing into making the metal VIN labels too, but I don't remember his forum name. He has posted to other forums before. I believe he lives in Spain?
I'm sure somebody has run into this before. How about contacting Porsche, either directly or through a dealer, and see if they can provide an original sticker. Might have to provide proof of ownership and original VIN, but worth a shot.
I had my door crunched (thankfully nothing else) and was replaced with an OEM part. The body shop had a contact that replicates the door id and gave me this:
About 20 years ago i worked for BMWs body shop. When we had to replace them it could be done, but took a ton of paperwork and time for it to be delivered from germany. Due to theft issues i am not sure how easy it can be done by the end user but i am sure it can be done. Check with your local dealers parts department.
I contacted the site on my first post...they responded:
https://car-bone.pl/shop/vin-993/
...they can make the sticker with the correct information and send it to me.....
Post a photo when you receive it. My driver's door was replaced with a new one after an accident. I took a photo of my sticker first. I was thinking about printing it out and sticking it on but I'd like to see what you get from that vendor.
