Hi all. I could use your expertise on my fathers purchase. Today he bought a 2001 996 Turbo. 44k miles. 2 owner. No hits on the CARFAX as far as accidents but not a stellar service history. Seems to run strong. Few cosmetic issues but everything works. I have a 991 S manual. Here are some major things I�ve noticed that I�d like your input on. 1 - The clutch is waaaay lighter. Catches early. Is this normal. 2 - The breaks take way more force. 3 - The test drive was great. On the way home made a tight U turn and heard some knocking from the front wheels. What could that be? 4 - It has factory carbon fiber on the inside and it�s started to yellow. Can you get this stuff and can it be swapped out? 1. no idea; post your question on the turbo forum 2. brakes 3. probably CV joints 4. factory carbon fiber is pretty crappy. some people have managed to save it. mine was cracking and warping terribly
