I recently replaced the front driver side tire on my 2001 C4 ( 500 miles ago)...i'm noticing a fairly significant left pull at hwy speeds (car makes a full lane change in 3-4 seconds with hands off the wheel!)

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recently replaced the front driver side tire on my 2001 C4 ( 500 miles ago)...i'm noticing a fairly significant left pull at hwy speeds (car makes a full lane change in 3-4 seconds with hands off the wheel!) The original tires have 9/32nd's of tread while the new tire has 11/32nd's...Assuming tire pressure is the same on both sides (36f/44b) could the 2/32nd's difference be causing the pull? Any advice would be appreciated !! Thanks! BTW - tires are Dunlop SP Sports

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Car pulls to the right not left..seems to favor the smaller original tire...

POST 3Original post

Yes, I would assume the cause is the tires. I've always been advised to replace at least 2 matching tires at a time, if all 4 is not possible.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the comment CosmosC4s...i changed the other tire today and the pull disappeared - car handles like a dream once again ! Apparently 2/32nds can make a big difference!
