Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I can see a whole series of potentially over filled cars in the near future otherwise.....
Leading evidence: 'Fill cars in the' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check dipstick' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Stick in half a Qrt, and check the dipstick to get close to max.

given how i had an oil change and RMS replaced 3,000 miles ago, should i worry?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i get three different readings:
On-Board computer shows level oil low
Dipstick shows oil level in the middle
Oil pressure gauge goes up to 4-5 when driving over 4K RPM
which one should i trust most (my guess 2nd?) and why are others so mis-leading? i guess i could use a quart of oil in any case.
given how i had an oil change and RMS replaced 3,000 miles ago, should i worry? or is this normal oil burning considering super hot weather and all...
btw, went to an autocross on saturday - it was awesome. planning to do porsche DE and start going to track events later on.
The electronic gauge has been shown to be off, so is a nice indicator for those who don't like to open the engine compartment, but not a good absolute test.
The dipstick is the actual oil measurement - as long as the car is level, and the oil has had a chance to drain from the block before you test.
I use electronic gauge to show me trends, i.e. I can see the oil going down over time, and the dipstick to see how much oil I need to add.
And oil use is normal - and will vary from car to car.
My 03 get's through nearly a Qrt in 2,500 miles of spirited driving
Chris.
yep... spirited driving alright:

electronic gauge started to complain during that time.
so given how oil dipstick in the morning when car is cold shows oil level to be in the middle, should i add a quart anyways to make electronic gauge happy?

If you overfill, as per the electronic gauge, you get more white smoke at start-up
Chris.
Maybe to cater to those Porsche drivers who are filthy rich who don't care to even look into the engine bay or get those manicured fingers dirty...?
I think it's ridiculous to do away with the dipstick.
Trust your oil pressure gauge, it should always read one up from your RPM(it also means you have oil). The oil level gauge should read accurately once the car is warmed up and parked at a level ground. My oil level gauge reads full before startup and read 3 bars low when the cars warmed up.
Is that right? I thought the reading was to be taken on a cold engine. My oil level guage reads near full on a cold engine (ie. first thing in the morning before driving off). On a hot engine it's near the bottom (one bar).
