Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I received my new OEM GT3 bumper today and started the disassembly of my stock 996 bumper. After I had the bumper cover off I also took off the plastic covers that go over the radiators so that I could clean out the back corners (weird that there were 2 cigarette butts logged in there!!). My question is if I'm supposed to re-use the plastic covers with the new GT3 bumper? The opening sorta looks like it fits, but I didn't know if I'll have a fitment issue putting things back together...I'm also going to be installing cargraphic mesh inserts - so I'm not sure if that will effect the fitment with the radiator plastic covers? And finally - is there a trick in lining things up with the new bumper? Do I start in the center and line things up from there? Any tricks? Thanks in advance, Will

POST 2Original post

Let's bump this up because maybe I'll receive my bumper soon!

POST 4Original post

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have an 01 - is the plastic you are refering to the radiator covers? I tried fitting things last nite and I cannot get the bumper pushed all the way in with those covers. The large air opening of the cover doesn't seem to line up correctly with the bumper....so is it OK to run the car without the covers? Thanks, Will

POST 6Original post

That's strange. I also have an '01 and my Aero bumper went on fine whithout having to remove any covers. It's amazing how much dirt and debris gets to the radiators, (I found cig butts, newspaper, leaves, dirt, sand, etc. etc.). I loosened the radiators and tapped them to get all the junk out between. It made quite a pile. Tom

POST 7Original post

Same here like Tom. I have even removed my GT3 front a few times to clean all the crap out. NO issues. But you need to REMOVE the plastic covers/air directors from the front of the radiators after you have removed the bumper to get to the them. Then reinstall. I remember when I removed mine I removed the headlights, side corner lights, etc to make the job easier. It does take a few tries to get everything to line up properly since the bumper is flexible. I have a pdf of the bumper install if you email me I will send it to you. ........so to asnwer your ORIGINAL question....YES, you do use those plastic covers.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tom - If you get a chance, can you take a closeup pic of how the opening of the cover aligns with the bumper? I can't tell if the cover is supposed to go around the outside of the bumper opening...or the inside? At least now I know its all supposed to fit together!!!! Thanks in advance - Will

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dell - Thanks for the info...I think I had already asked you (and you sent them to me) for the PDF for my sideskirt install, and it looks like that PDF is for an entire Aerokit (which includes the front bumper). If you have another one I'd be interested!!

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This weekend I cutout the center hole of the bumper, glued in the mesh inserts and finally got the bumper in correctly with the radiator air housings!! So my last question, I'm waiting on the bottom lip spoiler....so do you need to take to bumper off the install the botton lip? Or can I get to it from underneath with just taking of the bottom screws? Just want to know if I should button everything up now, or wait till I get the lip!!

POST 12Original post

No need to remove ANYTHING Just line up the lip and insert the plastic rivets (2-pieces for each one). One will snap into the lip and the bumper first to act as a receiver for the plastic rivet. Get it good and snug (the lip) against the bumper with the receiver installed then pop in the rivets piece.

POST 13Original post

Sorry Will I didn't see your post until now. I'll try to shoot a few photos if you still need them. Tom
