Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Thinking its a CV joint but curious if anybody has had a similar issue and it was the front diff.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Only at slow speed, like turning into a parking spot or turning around and only while turning right. Thinking its a CV joint but curious if anybody has had a similar issue and it was the front diff. thanks in advance. No time to get to it now, wife is in labor. We are in that several hour phase between water breaking and the real action so I have time to think about this stuff but probably not going to be under the car any time soon.

POST 2Original post

Lol! One thing at a time! Congratulations! I have a 99 C4 and have a click or tick at parking lot speeds when turning the wheel. Strut mounts and CV boots were recently done. Didn't have noise before. Also thinking a joint. Now go and welcome your new addition to your family!

POST 3Original post

It could just be the ***** in the CV joint "clicking into position" as the joint rotates. It may go away as they heat up and the grease gets better distributed throughout the joint. Hopefully it's not a total lack of grease in the boot...
