Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone else having difficulty keeping a power supply in their cigarette lighter? Because the lighter is so shallow, I'm having a difficult time keeping the power supply from my V-1 detector in the socket. Every time I hit a bump I loose power. Anyone know a way to make the connection fit better?

$2.50 http://www.escortradar.com/shop.htm or $16.95 http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/me...Code=POTE996CM

POST 3Original post

I don't use mine often, but i find twisting it in a little helps it stay connected. But redridge's solution seems much more genteel, do that instead.

the suncoast kit looks clean

POST 5Original post

Hardwire to the fusebox, I always do that on my cars, haven't gotten to it on the 996 yet but I will

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I guess I could do that but I'd have to buy another power supply since I use it in both my car and my Jeep

POST 7Original post

Hardwire the V1 into your P-car, and use the cigarette lighter cable when moving it over to the Jeep.

POST 8Original post

There's a replacement socket kit from Sunset for cheap (like $20), very easy to swap out. Problem solved for good.
