Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use Porsche coolant for Porsches, BMW coolant for BMWs, and Prestone for anything else.

Suggestion
Total cost was under $100 when mixed 50/50 and dont plan to replace for years so I dont see a huge benefit to saving a few bucks amortized over a few years.

I'll let him know I used Super Tec as a disclaimer though.

Now, I must admit that I have used the Supertech R134 to recharge AC after repairs on client vehicles and have never had an issue.

We are not getting any where besides you wont use because from Walmart.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Its says free of phosphates, borates, nitrates, silicates and amines. Someone recommended this but I got this. I think the label changed. Blue was recommended. Ingredients are on the jugs I bough. 6 gallons no water needed.
This is exactly what I used on my recent coolant flush/refill.....3 gallons of concentrated coolant, 3 gallons of distilled water.......should be good for 5 years....
Okay guys, give me something more than it's from Walmart. I get my Mobil 1 from there. Much cheaper than the auto part stores.
Tell me what it wrong with it. I haven't used and can still return.
Thanks.
There is a HUGE difference between Walmart-branded coolant and Mobil1.
I bought a Diet Coke from Dollar Tree, so I should use their Dollar Tree oil in my Porsche.
I would go with a known brand over SuperTech.
Whether it is their oil or coolant.
Mainly because I dont know who manufactured it.
Now, I must admit that I have used the Supertech R134 to recharge AC after repairs on client vehicles and have never had an issue.
I also buy my Mobil1 at Walmart for my other vehicles and for client vehicles.
My Porsche gets Driven DT40.
Most other vehicles get Mobil1 unless a client requests something else, or provides their own oil.
I use Porsche coolant for Porsches, BMW coolant for BMWs, and Prestone for anything else.
FWIW, CCI makes Super Tech, Peak, Motorcraft and others specifically for some large auto manufacturers. Super Tech could be the bottom of the barrel or it's just another label with the same stuff. I was hoping someone here would know. I certainly don't.
Unless something changesin the next couple days, I will try and report back at a later date. I am only keeping this car about 5 years and driving 2k a year so unfortunately, my gut is if it does cause an issue, it's the next guy's problem. I'll let him know I used Super Tec as a disclaimer though. .
Love your car TexSquirrel, the aero package is beautiful. Almost bought one but the PPI was about as bad as it could get so I passed. It was a sad day.
Take care.
Im with TX squirrel on this one. I use Porsche coolant for the pcar and Bmw coolant for the bmws. Based on the materials used for the coolant system they require coolant devoid of some chemicals and laden with others. IIRC, the pcar coolant from the dealer was $24 per gallon. Total cost was under $100 when mixed 50/50 and dont plan to replace for years so I dont see a huge benefit to saving a few bucks amortized over a few years. Youll probably be ok with whatever but why risk it?
I don't understand this mentality...Are you doing a complete flush, what is in it now? Mixing coolants is a no go!
What was once an $70-$80K car and you want to leave it to the next guy to worry about? As a buyer, I'd walk!
I just bought some Peak coolant for my VW. It says it's OAT formula and suitable for Porsche. I have no plans to use it on my 996 since there is a Porsche dealer only a couple of miles from me. It's not any cheaper than Porsche brand but it might be easier to get in a pinch. Auto Zone has it.
Complete flush.
We are not getting any where besides you wont use because from Walmart. I guess we all make choices we are comfortable with.
Take care.
Yes...It is the same thing in a different bottle, with a different name....some people like to pay the extra $ when the container says "peak" or "prestone" or "motorcraft" on it.....it makes them feel better....
to each his own.....
.....
People wouldnt buy it if they didnt get some value from it. Its not only more convenient, but also ensures you get the mix ratio right. I have bought in on occasion as a topper-upper, so I dont have to worry about affecting the mix.
I am in marketing, but Im sure that has nothing to do with it.
Every brand uses their own additive package,,
The glycol component is the same chemical, just like oils its the
additives not the base that makes most of the difference.
There are flavors that dont get along.
Good luck!
