The P just had a 60K maintenance and engine was running fine the day before.....and I am happy that I bought the extended warranty.....I am using "the exotic warranty company" I read about them a couple of weeks ago on rennlist...a guy in Florida said he bought it and they went under, I checked this out right away, with the broker who sold me the warranty and with the company itself...and they guaranteed me they where fine...had some problems with licenses in a couple of states due to a law change, but this shouldn't effect anybody who already had the warranty...I called them when the P was in the shop and they checked my member # and told me to go ahead let them see what's wrong and fix it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

35 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

this morning my P gave up.....no heart beat....enough battery power but nothing else. will know tomorrow what's wrong...thank god for extended warranties! So I could even laugh about it and take a picture of this sad sight!! made me think of a repo show on TV!!!

POST 2Original post

Hope it all works out...does look like a repo. with the Official Police Tow flatbed.

POST 3Original post

Could be worse , could have been from some a-hole hitting you. Stay positive and thank god for warranty!

POST 4Original post

sorry to hear... hopefully it is nothing BTW, what extended warranty are you using?

POST 5Original post

Hope all is well. It's a P-car, even they sometimes need a little R&R. Bet she's back in no time... And for now $ given the warranty.

POST 6Original post

The car is clearly rejecting the new front end. This is similar to when a body rejects a recent organ transplant and begins to destroy itself.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

right Lowside...too bad the engine is in the back!! your sarcasm is maybe why you got your top sliced!??! The P just had a 60K maintenance and engine was running fine the day before.....and I am happy that I bought the extended warranty.....I am using "the exotic warranty company" I read about them a couple of weeks ago on rennlist...a guy in Florida said he bought it and they went under, I checked this out right away, with the broker who sold me the warranty and with the company itself...and they guaranteed me they where fine...had some problems with licenses in a couple of states due to a law change, but this shouldn't effect anybody who already had the warranty...I called them when the P was in the shop and they checked my member # and told me to go ahead let them see what's wrong and fix it....we will see how it works out...will keep you posted. Kind of think it is the starter.....

POST 8Original post

I just got the pleasure of flat bed service last friday morning. On the BQE and the left rear just starts making a terrible noise, followed by a not so good feeling at the wheel. Anyone who has ever been on the BQE during morning rush hour knows this is no place to stop, regardless. Anyway, limp to a gas station, the right rear wheel is toast. Try to put air in it, you can see the air rushing our from the sides! The flat bed comes and they lift it up, but not without scraping the crap out of the bottom of the car. (thank god for the engine protection plate). When its up on the lift, I notice a HUGE bolt sticking out of my other rear tire. In the end, two dead rear SO2a's. It is a sad site, though I did make all sorts of interesting friends while waiting!

POST 9Original post

After I had my 2001 for about 6 months I was driving and it just died... pulled over and had it flatbedded to the dealer. Turned out to be the alternator.

POST 10Original post

Of course the engine is in the back and of course the motor and the headlights are 99.9% unrelated, I was only making a joke.

POST 11Original post

Let's hope that is true. Last thing you want is "go ahead and get it looked at and fixed" then have them deny the claim. I'm praying for you Keep us posted.

POST 13Original post

just wondering, but if it is in fact a starter as you suspect, wouldnt it be right around the same amount as your deductable to have it replaced? why bother with the warranty company?

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

IT WAS JUST A FREAKIN' FUSE!!!! A STUPID FUSE!!! I am soooo pissed, because this was my first thought!!! Anyway I am glad it isn't anything else...eventough the fuse is going to cost me couple of hundred!!

POST 16Original post

lesson learned, right??? It is times like this when (1) you are glad it wasn't something major; and (2) that you learned one more thing to check out in the future should it happen again. We live and learn.

POST 17Original post

Glad it wasn't anything major!. I'm curious. Fuse to what killed the car?

POST 18Original post

Off subject - Palting, I can't help it but whenever I look at your sig I swear it looks like your car is grinning.

POST 20Original post

LOL!!!! It did'nt occur to me, but now that you mention it, it does!! It loves the track!!

POST 21Original post

In high school i was driving back from VT in my 1978 SAAB 99, and the car just died, like it ran out of gas. I got towed, left it at a dealer with a note. Beleive it or not, they were honest, and called the next day saying it was just a fuse and to come get it. Always check the box first.

POST 22Original post

how is the fuse going to cost you several hundred???

POST 23Original post

My guess is his tow bill. If the dealer is charging him labor to tell him that it was a fuse then that is just flat wrong!

POST 25Original post

Glad is was a simple problem (bummer it was a fairly expensive "simple problem") Just in case... What fuse was it and what were the symptoms? You said it had battery indications, did the starter turn?

POST 26 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

took them a while to figure out what it was....and it was my own fault...I was installing the MP3 connectors to the Becker radio...and probably touched something that blew the fuse.... I just have to do what I am best at.....just have to figure out what that is!

POST 27Original post

Obviously it is photography! Your pics are amazing you have up on your website. Good eye

POST 28Original post

Wow - congrats. That was the kind of outcome I was hoping for when mine hit the flatbed last December. No such luck tho. glad yours turned out to be nothing.

POST 29 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for the compliments Dell, but I can't even take a full 100% for the results..because my wife does most of the work....delegate and rule (is what she does!) I guess I am very lucky that people/companies are willing to pay so much money for a picture taker!! Sorry about offending you so much in my other post!!

POST 31Original post

Very welcome! They are great pics and obviously you 2 make a great team. As for you offending me, no apology necessary, you explained it so I understand your form of sarcasm, and we are cool It just takes a little while to figure out everybody's form of humor on this forum and there will be bumps along the way. We have now gotten past this one

POST 34Original post

You missed your true calling as a movie theater usher.

POST 35 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes I did Riad..but last time I checked they only made 5 bucks an hour.....and how can I afford the fill up the P at almost 3bucks a gallon??? By the way I don't like people to tell me where to sit!!! So why would I do it to someone else.
