I agree with Jammy...The top should not break...it has been cycled (tested) for thousands of operations...more than you would probably do in a lifetime...It really is a nice design.

And I agree with most people here that the top takes no time to put up and down and under normal use should never wear or break.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

http://www.automotion.com/productpag...%20Cover&part= looks like something nice for the summer. i know i have smart+remotetop, but is the cover better than have to top up every time u leave the car?

POST 2Original post

PL, i think id rather keep opening/closing my top (less than 30 secs.), than have to deal with installing/removing that cover everytime, no? especially with the smartop.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

stupid question. will the top break easily if i open and close too ofter?

POST 4Original post

I agree with Jammy...The top should not break...it has been cycled (tested) for thousands of operations...more than you would probably do in a lifetime...It really is a nice design.

POST 5Original post

I use one on my cab. Takes about a minute to put on. I use it mostly in my garage as I leave the top down most the time when its home. Keeps the dust and pollen out. Well worth the money.

POST 6Original post

Looks like it would be a pain in the a$$ to screw with. Top would be easier.

POST 7Original post

Not a good idea to keep the top stowed for long periods of time anyway. Just close the top instead of putting that thing on.....it's faster to just push the button.

POST 8Original post

It's not waterproof so it only protects the interior from sun. If you leave the car for long, you should raise the top anyways. I put a real car cover on the car if it's parked for long, esp during summer. As Dell said, leaving your top down for extended amt of time wrinkles your tops's sides (C pillar area). That's one reason I don't like a hard top.

POST 11Original post

I didn't even put my hardtop on this year because we had a very mild winter. I actually drove with the top down last month. Whoo ooh! And I agree with most people here that the top takes no time to put up and down and under normal use should never wear or break.
