Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Run 2 sets of the sm10' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run 2 sets of the sm10' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Keep in mind this type of compound (along with many track/race compounds) will run wider than your average street tire.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Am still having issues with the order, I will PM you about it.
Bash Hat, your car looks like a 996.1 C2 Aero. What sizes and offsets did you go with?
I know that they offered a few choices front and back but I'm scared to go too wide upfront and cause rubbing due to my car being at GT3 ride height.

On my C4S i run 2 sets of the SM10.
Street set is running 225/40R18 and 295/30R18 on 18x8.5 and 18x11
Track set is running 245/40R18 and 315/30R18 on 18x9 and 18x12
Cool, one of my issues is I just bought a set of RE71-R for rear and not sure how 285s would be on a set of 11 wide wheels. Since I have 305s on my 12 wheel on 991 GTS I want to think it would be similar to that, but not certain.
nitto Nt01. Only 1 session so far and very happy. I'm an amateur at the track so not sure i would notice the difference in a good tire vs a great tire at the moment. They are loud as hell though. Makes it sound like the car has a bad wheel bearing untill i put my streets back on.
Awesome, I have heard great things about the Nittos, I am also fairly new at the track. But with my suspension complete, and with this proper wheel/tire set-up, 2020 will be about the driver improvement!
sure Ill do it later today when Im home
Im thinking of getting a second pair for summer tires as I have Pilot sport as/3+ currently mounted... they get a bit greasy by session 3
I could see that. MPSC2s are great on track if want to stick with Michelin thats what I use on my other car. I just wanted to give the RE71r a try, but havent taken to the track yet and only put a couple hundred miles on them so cant give a full review. Learned my wheels were warped and 1 was warped bad (not my doing) after I got them powder coated and new tires mounted.
Hello, I signed up for the wheel group buy as I mentioned. I also bought a set of Nittos via Apex and was hoping to join the wheels and tires via Apex. Unfortunately Apex cancelled the tire order and said they cannot help me when I have the group buy for wheels. Am I missing something? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Send a PM to the user APEXRaceParts . They are on this site as a sponser. Ryan is the guy who usually handle Porsche orders and responds via that user id. I have ordered 2 sets of wheels. 1 thru the group buy and 1 shortly after. I am now in contact with them again for a set of wheels for my BMW. They are good people to work with and handle all issues quickly. I don't think i have heard anything negative about them.
Great to see this thread in the 996 section, and thanks to all that have shared fitment advice and photos. If anyone has any technical fitment questions for me, please let me know.
285 RE71Rs will mount up to 11" wheels nicely. Keep in mind this type of compound (along with many track/race compounds) will run wider than your average street tire. Furthermore, we believe that wheels
at the wider end of a tire manufacturer's recommended wheel width spectrum will result in better handling characteristics (driver feedback), especially upon initial turn-in and throughout corners when the weight of the vehicle is transferred and the tire sidewalls are experiencing extreme loads. Sidewall support is an important factor when it comes to optimizing a particular wheel and tire setup for HPDE use.
I'm assuming you will track your 996 with this wheel and tire configuration, is that correct? What wheel width and tire size are you planning to run up front? Also, do you have negative camber dialed in?
Randy, I just sent you a PM and I apologize for the confusion. We modeled our Group Buy out so that customers could have the convenient option of adding Nitto NT01 (track) or Michelin PS2 (street / dual-duty) tires to their order, and it looks like the Web Manager at GangUp forgot to add them to the deal when it first launched. The deal page has since been updated, and the tires are now live. For anyone who has already expressed interest or pledged to the deal, you are welcome to log back in to the GangUp site and reconfigure your order to add tires.
Beyond the Group Buy discount on the wheels (pending participation) and free shipping, we are also offering free mounting and road force balancing for any enthusiast that purchases a wheel and tire package. To say this there is tremendous value in this Group Buy would be an understatement.
Much appreciated
Here is more 996 inspiration.

Thanks Ryan, I logged back in and added the tires. Am still having issues with the order, I will PM you about it.
Really looking forward to trying the Nittos, thanks for having that as an option!

PM returned. We'll get you all fixed up with the NT01's.
Aren't you running NT01's, David?
The Anthracite finish looks killer on your 996.
Very nice. Start 'em young!
