Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The ls swap on this forum going right now i'm pretty sure used him for there adaptor kit as well.

Suggestion
from bottom of oil pan to top of supercharger is exactly 28" the bottom of my oil pan set 1" higher then the m96 oil pan.

I might use it for a FSI Stage 2, or run it until it explodes (could be another 100k miles), rebuild it using the FSI rebuild DVD or LS Swap it.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
What is the value of a working 3.4 motor with 100k miles on it?
Typical 100k miles:
- Runs just fine
- No oil consumption
- No smoke
- No "ticking"
- Plastic debris in oil filter and some in pan
- IMSB replaced but the 5years has passed
- New water pump
On ebay they start at $7000, seems a little high for something that can explode at any time.
Good luck.. I had mine on ebay for three weeks and it had tons of views. finally sold for $4300 to a mechanics shop in north Carolina. They don't sell as fast and for as much as most say. Mine had 127k on it.
Curious, why did you sell yours?
A LS1 (first gen) from a 1999 corvette sells for ~$2500. You would think that a M96 motor would be significantly more expensive.
Nothing wrong with my motor just exploring options. I might use it for a FSI Stage 2, or run it until it explodes (could be another 100k miles), rebuild it using the FSI rebuild DVD or LS Swap it.
I bought my swap donor motor for $350 from the junk yard, spent about $2000 to build it up to have almost double the power as the m96 and didn't see any reason to hang on to that motor. with all the mods and cutting I've done on my Porsche ... stock .. numbers matching keeping the value etc... I left that all behind lol I don't see me ever wanting or needing to do anything with the m96. I have another swap kit in the waiting for another Porsche (probably v8 boxster) as well. so for ME I've left the way to expensive Porsche motor behind. not hating on it just doesn't fit my logic for dollars vs performance.. but I'm quite simple so lol
That is a 3.8sc from a Pontiac grand prix GTP.
My build is on page two of this forum if you haven't seen it yet. "like it or not, steel wide body"
I have an adaptor kit for an LS motor, LT1 motor and this 3.8sc motor. I was originally going to go LS but looking at all the builds.. $20k seems to be the norm for that swap. My swap i'm at $7500 all in and i'm pretty much done spending money for the engine swap side of my project. Ya I don't have a fire breathing LS engine but at around 400whp, I think I'll be more then fun in my car.
Nope!
I haven't even thought about it because I assumed it was to tall to fit.
But I am sure there is knowledge about how to mate Nissan with LS, so maybe it could be figured out how to mate Nissan with Porsche.
from bottom of oil pan to top of supercharger is exactly 28" the bottom of my oil pan set 1" higher then the m96 oil pan. the weight is almost identical
you can find a man named Eric over on "mad mechanics" who can make any combination you want. to my knowledge and his at the time.. I am the only person who has done this 3.8 swap. He made the adaptor kit for me and it was very very thorough. everything needed for the mating. His prices are very good. The ls swap on this forum going right now i'm pretty sure used him for there adaptor kit as well.
