Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Now I am wondering if it is possible to power it using a battery to get the digital clock to function, and maybe even the backlighting.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I removed the gauge cluster from my 996 parts car and have it sitting on my desk as automotive art. Now I am wondering if it is possible to power it using a battery to get the digital clock to function, and maybe even the backlighting. Has anyone tried this or have any suggestions? I havent yet clipped the wiring harnesses from the parts car but I can, just not sure which ones are required to have and which wires to connect to the battery.
