Suggestion · Original poster

I was under the impression that they could use the stock clamp that connects the cat to the muffler, so I was very surprised to see that the OD of the pipes matched the OD of the clamp - rendering me stuck.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey there, I just received my eBay muffler bypass pipes, and am stuck trying to get them on. I was under the impression that they could use the stock clamp that connects the cat to the muffler, so I was very surprised to see that the OD of the pipes matched the OD of the clamp - rendering me stuck. Am I missing something here? The new pipe slides right over the cat pipe now.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Edit: Can I take one clamp off the sleeve and use that? Will that be secure enough?

POST 4Original post

When I did mine I couldn't use the sleeves. Bought new bolts and nuts and tightened them down without any issues.
