Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

the reason for the power cycles is the fiber optic signal was not making it back to the head unit so it continues to send out a test signal

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Getting ready to start diagnosing my inoperative audio system in my 2003 C4s w/ BOSE...(I have a most loop jumper to single out components) Non PCM2 car w/ CDR23... Head unit keeps cycling the "PORSCHE" boot up screen Called Becker for a reman unit and the guy said that likely wasn't the problem.. the reason for the power cycles is the fiber optic signal was not making it back to the head unit so it continues to send out a test signal Does anyone know what components are present? All Data lists the Head unit, Amplifier, a "Diversity Control Module", CD Changer, and Telematics Module.. I do not have GPS or any Phone functions... Just wondering how many of the listed MOST components are present in the car before I start tearing apart the interior and frunk to chase this down. Thanks in advance Scott

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Verdict... Bad amplifier Hooked up the MOST loop isolator to the amp plug and the head unit fired right up

@mrfeh Did the used amp require any configuration or software at the dealer to work?

Thankfully, no. Just plugged it in and all was good.

Luckily the 2003 is before the sound system got integrated into the car like some of the brand new ones.. My 2012 GMC the head unit, is part of the rig,, its like 1400 for a standalone module to delete the factory stereo.. And you still have to buy the stereo.
