Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Ashtray cover was removed to have it painted and hasn't been replaced yet.
Leading evidence: 'Replace yet' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'grounding or fuse issue' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check 12v' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I agree that it is probably a grounding or fuse issue.

Suggestion
Use a probe tester to check for 12v on one wire with clamp on the ground and then put the clamp on the 12v side of the batt and check for ground.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Recently acquired 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera C4 with 53,000 miles. Just had hood, front bumper and front quarters painted to correct chips and road rash. Bumper and hood were removed and all including the car/front quarters were painted in a paint booth. Obviously front headlights and reflectors were removed. When I picked up the car, the map lights, power window switches and sunroof would not work. Stock CR 220 with CD changer/radio with aftermarket subwoofer makes a high pitch squeal even at idle. Key fobs remote will not lock or unlock the doors. When you press the fob, the horn sounds twice. Windows still go up when doors closed. Windows can be raised and lowered with key in the door turned right or left. Car drives fine, exterior lights work, frunk, trunk and center console all closed. Ashtray cover was removed to have it painted and hasn't been replaced yet. The little lightbulb inside does not work. Also I noticed the little light in the frunk doesn't work. I know the owner of the paint shop and he does amazing work. He said he would be happy to try and figure out what the problem is. I also work at a Mercedes dealer and can have my shop look at it. But I wanted to get some advice to what may have caused this. Thank you for any ideas or guidance.
Hard to say but there r a few grounding points in the front end. Maybe a wire did not get attached or paint not allowing the ground. Use a probe tester to check for 12v on one wire with clamp on the ground and then put the clamp on the 12v side of the batt and check for ground. If no ground search for the bad connection. If no 12v then start with the fuses.

First of all. I wouldn't have driven off the property before addressing it to the shop manager. Once you drive off, then they could say it's not their problem. But your problem is not rare. It's possible something got shorted out if they were removing any electrical components. Have you checked the fuses? That's the first place I'd start after addressing the issue with the body shop.
I know the shop owner and he is taking full responsibility of the issues. He said to bring it back and he will troubleshoot it. But I'd rather have my dealership mechanic work on it. It's not a Porsche dealership unfortunately, it's Mercedes-Volvo. I agree that it is probably a grounding or fuse issue. I will have those checked. I hope it's a fairly simple fix!
