There is a guy local selling this exact set for cheap money but I may consider different styles so start posting lol..
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ok So I took my car in for a wheel balance and alignment (SLIGHT shimmy between 75-80, I know I know just drive faster) and they showed me one of my rims is slightly out of whack. Yes I could repair it but now it has me thinking of getting new rims. Currently I am running these, 19" with 235/35/19 on the front and 295/30/19 on the rear. They also are starting to show their age so Im not sure I want to invest in them.

Mike,
I know I'm setting myself up here for the dog pile but I am sort of a purist when it comes to me vehicles. I would not change to aftermarket rims. Fix yours by refurbishing them, or purchase the ones that are for sale if they are the same rim. Either way they look great on your car as is and Porsche spend millions of dollars on R&D to figure out what works! IMHO!

I went with a set of 18's from a Cayman. I thought they kind of had similar lines to original Fuchs wheels. Total investment was $100 after selling the original 17" twists to a Boxster owner in Michigan.
I really like the Carrera IIs.
I think Porsche got it right when they put these BBS wheels on the 911!
They're 18" wheels, which should give a nicer ride than 19".
I really like the look of the wheels I have as well, but you guys are saying I should really have 18"s on here? I have not noticed an issues with ride or handling, and in all honesty I drive it very seldom, and never raced.
OZ Alleggerita HLT powdercoated satin black. 18x8.5 et53 front and 18x12 et68 rear with 245/40 and 315/30. I had Carrera 2s on there previously which are now for sale

How is that finish holding up ?
mine are painted, (by me) and due to be redone come spring
I wonder how your car would look if you rattle canned 'em with the same
Dark Teal
from one of the t/u paint suppliers ?
Mine are going to be GT Silver to match the body, it's a bit darker than the current Wurth Silver
one of the nice things about the Formulas, they're pretty easy to repaint..a lot of surface to prep, a lot of hand sanding
but easy to paint
Wheels are such a subjective, personal thing. For example, I think completely blacked out wheels are hideous regardless of the style but a lot of people
love
them.
My car had twists when I bought it.
The twists really weren't my thing so I picked up a set of Sport Classic IIs.
Of course after spending time and money refreshing the Sport Classics, I got a set of the wheels that I had wanted the whole time. BBS RS-GTs
Thats a tough one. I think the oem 18 that look like the 19s you have now are the best option for your car, but in your case you might regret it as your current wheels are a better looking version of those. I like 19s, but the oem 18s wheel is a bit more functional, and after you getting used to the ways your car looks now, youd need to likely work on the stance to make 18s look as good. A lot cheaper to spend $500 refinishing and straightening what you have now. Form or function, you make the call.
These cars drive remarkably better on 18s. You can certainly feel more stability on uneven streets with much less sudden side to side road pull.
That said heres my C4S with 19 Sport Classics 😂
I just put a deposit on 2004 C4S Coupe with what I'm told are 18" GT3 wheels (option code 416). But they have 4S wheel centers. Are these really GT3 wheels? Anyway, I'm going to see the car Monday.

I have another set of Gemballa Speedlines that haven't made it onto the car yet. A purist I am not..but to each their own

Just saw this response. So basically 7 mm delta on the offset and 12.7 mm delta on the difference between the 8.5 and 9” rim? The 9” oz would therefore net poke out 7mm more than your setup? Am i looking at this correctly?
Cargraphic 3 piece racing wheels
18"9" & 18"11"
The rears were recently rebuilt with new barrels that we had manufactured by Cargraphic in Germany and shipped here (Thanks Speed Sport Tuning).
There were not many sets of these sent to USA, there is another member here that has a similar set.
I really like the polished outer barrel.
Hey! I never saw this question until this thread got called back from the dead. It's holding up really well, save for the gash I put on the right rear rim.
I take really good care of the paint because with all the dust in the air here it can really etch hard if left to roost. Thanks for reminding me that I need to order some hypersilver touch-up to fix my curb rash... Still loving these wheels!
Quick question.... I picked these 19" Avant Garde wheels from a P car owner who had them on his 2005 997. I'm hoping they will fit on my 04 996 but it looks like its going to be close (I realize just lining them up next to the car isnt the correct way to tell). My question is will I need spacers? I have some time as I have the stock wheels with winter tires on them on the vehicle now. The vehicle currently has Bridgestone Potenzas 235/35/19 and 295/30/19 that I'll probably switch out when I put the wheels on in the summer.
the only way to really know is by determining the offsets/widths of the AG wheels youre installing. Figure that out and report back and we can advise further. Lookin good though!
Bought my 40AE, the prior owner had put on a very nice looking set of aftermarket HRE 305Ms in 18", which I reverted to the original bead-blasted Carrera lightweights.
Goes to show that you can have great looking aftermarket OR originals. There's not one right answer for all people!
