Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I use 15mm on all four corners on my 996.2, so dont think youd have much issue going out at least that far, even after you lower it.

I did eventually run across a set, but the owner wanted over $1000 each.

These twists could use a little love, so I will probably get them refinished.

Do you know the right spacer size to use with these wheels on a narrow body?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I came to this forum last year in pretty dire straights when my recently-purchased car developed bore-scoring. Now that my car is fixed and I'm finally enjoying it, I thought I would give it a proper introduction to the community.
My '99 Carrera coupe 6MT has about 71k miles on it. My kids have dubbed it the "Night Fury" since they think it looks like Toothless from the
How to Train Your Dragon
movies.

I have the original turbo twists too, and they are currently on the car.
It's been fun getting to know this car as I'm finally driving it and doing some wrenching on smaller things like brakes. It's starting to really feel like it's my car, and I'm looking forward to making some appearance mods when I have all the mechnicals where I want them.
Thats one of the best looking black cars Ive seen. I like the name too, and may borrow that from you if I land a black Porsche some day. Very nice looking.
I'd keep those hollow spokes. I agree with PorscheTech3 here. Almost impossible to find used. I did eventually run across a set, but the owner wanted over $1000 each. Ouch. OP, enjoy that car!

I didnt realize the hollow spoke twists were so rare. I think youve helped me make a decision about what which way to go with my wheels. I really like the look of 19s but absolutely love the way the car handles with these wheels. It feels like the car is 500 lbs lighter and I get the telepathic steering the magazines are always going on about. These twists could use a little love, so I will probably get them refinished. Maybe Ill fill the wheel wells by lowering the car a bit and adding small spacers.
Those should be 18x10 ET 65 and 18x8 ET 52. You can measure to the inner edge of the rear fender (and also check if it is already rolled) and see what gap you have to work with. I use 15mm on all four corners on my 996.2, so dont think youd have much issue going out at least that far, even after you lower it. And FYI those twists are worth $3k+.
