Suggestion

As far as the motor and window indexing issue, if you've already done the reset procedure and the window rolls up and down fine, but you're having an indexing problem, the next source would be the door latch.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey everyone, 1. My passenger side door window either the regulator or ?both of the microswitches are not working. Neither opening/closing door from inside nor outside triggers the window to drop to clear the window shroud when the door is being opened/closed. Window operates just fine when button is actuated. No noise that I can detect when opening/closing door to suggest the motor is trying to do anything. Have done the "reset" procedure with no effect. Should I replace the regulator or is it more likely one or both of the microswitches? 2. Same door, annoying low frequency rattle comes from the rear of the door, especially at lower RPMs and speeds. I've attached two videos to demonstrate the rattle. Any thoughts as to what it might be or how to manage it? Here are two video clips which capture the sound. https://i.imgur.com/urD66CV.mp4 https://i.imgur.com/2637CFI.mp4

Window regulator for the first issue. Had same with drivers side, fixed it with oem parts. Now i have it on passenger side. Seems common on cars that get little use, then new owner uses windows a lot and regulator fails. Good luck

The rattle could be a loose bolt or possibly a regulator on it's way out. As far as the motor and window indexing issue, if you've already done the reset procedure and the window rolls up and down fine, but you're having an indexing problem, the next source would be the door latch. Typically if a motor is not getting the proper signal from the latch, the motor doesn't know that you're opening the door. I would recommend replacing the latch to remedy the issue. Also we provide a window regulator rebuild service. We rebuild the OEM parts and replace the cheap plastic with metal for an extremely high quality regulator. Our rebuild pricing is much more accommodating to your wallet than buying a new dealer part and we offer a lifetime warranty.
