I'm running SpeedTech headers and Fister modded mufflers on my '03 996 and love the sound (also aided by the IPD Plenum).

They will go on tomorrow, and then, weather permitting, I will do a test drive on Friday.

It doesn't affect the emissions, only the sound and uses the OE mufflers.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well my better than new Fisters showed up today. Its a moment I truly enjoy. I cant wait to get them on.
Ill report back with more in time.
We all like eye candy so here you go-
In all the pics I see they look really good. This is on the to-do list but I am having a hard time pulling the trigger, after the ceramic, the shipping and new hardware it wouldn't cost me much more to buy a cat back.
They never get old. Ive had mine for over a year and still smile every time I blip the throttle.

I am by no means knocking Fister because I truly believe they sell a superior product and I know they go a lot further than a bypass pipe but most exhaust shops will weld in a bypass for you for between $100-150 and you get probably 90% of the same sound gain. Just tossing an option out there for anyone not looking to spend quite as much.
I really dont think its that easy. So many hacks out there. Now if you happen to know someone who is a precise welder with skills its then possible.
Ive done a bunch of welding, but Im not a weldor. This is not rocket science. A person skilled with a gas mig or tig welder can bang out a job like this in no time, and have the exact same results. Maybe Im just agreeing with you!?
I noticed in your signature it says you have the Beluga Bypass... I've been looking at these...how do you like them and are they too loud or fine for daily driving ?
Actually I need to update that, they were too much for me. On track they are fantastic but it is too much for street use and it rattle interior panels and drives the wife nuts on the trips to the mountains. I now have the gundo hack done and an FVD cat delete on order.
Mine arrived last week, sitting on the bench, waiting for warmer weather. The welding is pure art, looks much better than the factory welds. Just another 60 days or so until I get to hear that Fister music.
Picked mine up yesterday from having Fister's installed. They sound awesome! I put about 65 miles on it with the exhaust and could not find any draw backs or negatives to report. Did all manner of driving from city to highway and normal suburban... no drone or obnoxiousness. One could easily hold a conversation or take a phone call but under power it just comes to life. I think this is how they should have sounded when they left the factory.
Good luck with it. I highly doubt you'll be disappointed.
you can get them done for as little as $395 if you remove them and ship them to them.
The cermachrome is $320.
This guys are aresome to work with and for $700 you will have an exhaust system that should be on the car. Totally original and very effective. Thats how I see it.
I've had mine installed for at least 5-6 years. I still grin every time the engine fires up! Sounds like a proper P-car. Opted not to do the ceramic coating to save a few bucks since you really can't see them anyway. Darin was a pleasure to deal with. Only issue I had was getting the tips off the mufflers. Had to destroy the clamps in the process, so before doing the install make sure to order new ones.
I had one of my mufflers go out and that was a perfect time to send them in to be "fistered". The cost for both and shipping is the same as one new OEM muffler. It seemed like an easy decision. I've had them on for two years now and love the way they sound.

I have just made the Gundo hack (PSE Mod) instead of the Fister hack (bypass). I recognize that if you are looking for a loud sound, is better the bypass... but I love the growl and discrete sound of the PSE Mod. Just to the point for my taste.
I just received my Fisters today. They look awesome, clean, with very nice welds. If I didnt know, I would say they look brand new. They will go on tomorrow, and then, weather permitting, I will do a test drive on Friday. So far I would say the quality is well worth the money.......now I just need my ears to agree
I got my Fisters installed and picked up my car today. All I can say is AMAZING! It was so much better than I expected. I am not sure what I expected, but for me it was perfect. Not too loud, but definitely loud enough, with just the right amount of gurgling. I had watched the videos, and the sound there does not do them justice.
All said and done, I believe it was well worth the money, and a great mod for me.
It is definitely louder. It’s hard for me to describe how much louder, but I thought the same thing. The best description I can give is that it is very similar to the sound of the Maserati Quadreporte. There are two in my townhouse complex, and I think the sound is similar. I hope this helps a bit.
My car has Fisters, which I love. I was talking to my neighbor. He's a car guy and knew about what happened to my car. I told him that I got the car back from the body shop and he said "I know, I heard the rumble." I definitely don't pull out of my garage or drive down the street fast. I don't think they are loud at low RPM, but the tone is apparently noticeable to the neighbors.
