Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Suggestion, make sure you lube the hood latch with white lithium grease, and even better, pull the hood latch mechanism, invert and run some silicone lubricant down the cable.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have manual pulls for the frunk and engine cover and am interested in converting to power switches. There's an oem power console complete with switches locally just wondering if anyone has some insight on what else would be required. For example: Did Porsche run wiring for these in the stock harness on all models?
Thanks!
I'm sure you could do it. I wouldn't bother. I have both, prefer the manual. The manual version doesn't fail like the power version. If you do the conversion, I'd be interested in the parts to convert my power version to manual...
I don't think you'll find the wiring in the early cars. I don't recall seeing the connectors in the sill when I had my 2000 interior stripped out.
I prefer manual trunk release to electric because of the battery issue. That said, it's kind of a pain to have to open the door to open the frunk. The best solution, it seems, would be an "electrified" manual approach where you keep the manual cable inside the car and attach an electric solenoid to the emergency cable pull at the front of the car. I've never looked at the emergency cable, so I have no idea if there is room to hide a solenoid connected to that cable. Amazon and others have plenty of door/trunk lock solenoid kits if it is possible to hide it.
Reading about all the owners that have failed frunk/engine lid actuators (search for how do I get to the dead battery when my frunk won't open, or, I can't open my frunk what do I do?), I would stick with my manual cable any day over the electrical releases. Suggestion, make sure you lube the hood latch with white lithium grease, and even better, pull the hood latch mechanism, invert and run some silicone lubricant down the cable. Works like a charm.
