Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Try another brand or model and stick to the correct overall rolling diameter because if you don't, it will change the overall gear ratio.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have read the archives but was unable to discern an answer. The tire brand that I plan to go with does not have a 285/30/18 only a 285/35/18 for the rears. Is this going to make a big deal? The tires are Toyo T1-S's. I currently have Bridgestone SO3's. I know that not all tires are the same as far as profile and width. My wheels are the 02 Carrera's 8" fr and 10" rear. I am worried about the tires possibly rubbing as the car is really low; the tires are even with the top of the fenders. I could always go with the SO3's again but was looking for something that I could get a litle more mileage out of. If the new tires rub I will have to raise the car, new alignment, etc. and it is perfect right now. Also, I know the Toyo's are not going to be quite the same as the SO3', but; am I in for a shock? The car is new to me as of a week ago so I am going to use the Rennlist as a resource, I promise to try to use the search prior to my ?'s. I am getting the pics ready to post since it is the rule to show ya'll the ride. Thanks. Gotta go now to see Martha get out of prison, I'll check back at the commercials....
OK, a few questions first:
1- Are you planning to replace all four tires? If not, don't mix tire brands and models front to rear.
2- Why go with a different size, simply because the size you dhould have isn;t available? Try another brand or model and stick to the correct overall rolling diameter because if you don't, it will change the overall gear ratio. With an increase in diameter, your speedometer and Odometer will be off and your acceleration will be affected.
3- Why are you worried about rubbing? Even if you went with a 295, I doubt that you'd have any problems. these cars swallow up big tires with no issues, especially in the rear. Beside that, the 285/35-18 is not going to be wider than the 285/30-18 if you did decide to buy them.
4- Why Toyos? I'm not sure what everyone's experience has been with those tires on Porsche 996s but I can tell you that moving away from the S03 is a good thing IMHO.
There are plenty of brands and models available in 225/40-18 and 285/30-18. Shop around and search the forums for everyone's favorites and why they are their favorites.
I hope this helps.
