Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Once they were installed they were set to the appropriate lenght to match the stock setup.
Leading evidence: 'Install they were set' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install they were set' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I replaced every f*cking corner with at least one arm or so.

We then took the 996 out to a race event and tested the crap out of these.

I would say if you're going to really change things in that nature look to a cup car and the geometry in general.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As a weekend racer, and firm believer in handling is key, I had already completed the 2 main upgrades, coilovers and sway bars. The next step was to stiffen the rear end up more and add some adjustability for those fine tune racing alignments. With so little factory adjustment we found one key element that could be changed. This is when we turned to a top secret source who had a new product on the line for us to test.
We received these control arms for our 996 in an unmarked box delivered in a unmarked white van. The gentleman simply nodded at me, handed me the package, and left. What we found was an extremely lightweight aluminum control arm with Heim style joints that were cadium plated steel able to hold up to 20000lbs of pressure. Each control arm was notched for easy adjustability. All 4 pieces were the same length so we installed them with no problems. Removing the factory non adjustable bricks for these lightweight adjustable racing components took about 20 minutes per piece.
Once they were installed they were set to the appropriate lenght to match the stock setup. We then took the car to a local alignment specialists where they setup the rear camber and toe to our specs for competition. We then took the 996 out to a race event and tested the crap out of these. Buttonwillow Raceway in California can definitely put the car through the tests. Guess what... they passed the race and the daily driving test. No clunks, no noise, very clean, stiffer rear end, more adjustability, and everything we were told they would do happened.
Oh yeah rumor has it they are about $500 or less for the set of 4!!! Interested in these? Send me an email!
These are prototype pics. I hear the production ones are in blue!

At which race event did you test these? I'd definitely like to track your laptimes versus the competition and see how your product fares in the racing environment. As well, I'd like to know how the rules compare to PCA's Club Racing rules where I'm looking to compete later this year. Thanks a bunch!

now this looks interesting as an alternative to ERP parts -
can you be more specific with the materials used - the HEMI joints supplier, & provide pictures of them un-installed?
Thanks
I find it hard to believe that they are lighter. I have had those pieces in my hand. The only benefit would be for the adjustability and or removing slop out of the bushings on the inner mounts. I would say if you're going to really change things in that nature look to a cup car and the geometry in general. If you were able to dial things better that way, cool otherwise it seems like a real waste.
for me it is the elimination of the rubber bushing which is interesting - as well as the added ajustability in the suspension settings (if any) - weight is very secondary factor here
i was already looking at the ERP parts
I've been using the ERP version for a couple of years. Pretty hard to beat their quality but I bet they cost more than $500. I don't recall because I bought a bunch of stuff at once. Mine have been race tested and crash tested. They passed the first and failed the second.

well if it's any consolation the stock arms bend a little bit then snap right off. I have seen it on ehem someone's 993tt I rebuilt. I replaced every f*cking corner with at least one arm or so.
Sure will have pics off the car with specs later. Waiting for production pieces. yes they are lighter, yes the improved joints reduce the factory urethane play.
As far as track, I ran at Buttonwillow. Track times are relative to the driver, if you suck you suck, if your good your good. I could take just about anything on the track and have excellent times, but then again I have the components on the car to dial them in.
I dont know PCA rules, we run NASA and a majority of people are only doing HDPE not the full race group. We do private sessions at various tracks in AZ and CA for product testing.
