Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey all,
Ok, now that the cars suspension is in the works, got permission from my boss to install the exhaust. She ACTUALLY SUGGESTED it, how lucky is that?
So, what would you all suggest? We dont want something so loud to be irritating when the top is down, but a nice throaty growl would be great! Any thoughts? Any thoughts on HP gain? Car goes into the shop Wednesday so i have to act fast...
Going with a more free flowing exhaust will cost you power at the lower rpm's. You might gain an immesurable amount of hp at the high end. IMO, the only reason to replace the stock NA 996 exhaust is for sound, not performance.
C4BLISS- GHL with out any question. They are great to work with. They are a sponsor for Rennlist and the car sounds nice at idle and around 4,000-6000 rpm ... well I think you'll have the top down more often!
Fabspeed & GHL seem to be the most popular. There are others from Ruf & Porsche & Billy Boat & so on. After a lot of reading & forum surfing, I went with GHL and they arrived yesterday.
If you want it done this Wed, however, I would imagine your choices are going to be pretty slim. I would suggest taking some more time to listen to the different options and then make your choice. 1999Porsche911 is right, exhaust mods are for aural improvements and you don't want the wrong one just because you were in a hurry. There have to be a few Pcars with aftermarket exhaust in your area. Put the call out.

don't forget the 20 or so pounds you will lose in the rear when going with performance mufflers.
i find myself, when driving aggressively, driving in the upper ranges anyway and would benefit form the high RPM HP from a sport exhaust. it would help out on the track.
GHL's in my opinion are great for cab's. I didn't want something too loud and the GHL's are just a little louder at idle, but when you get on it they sound great. Also remember that since you have a cab, with the top down you can hear your exhaust alot louder than those with coupes.
Fabspeed or GHLs, you can't go wrong either way, great sound and a good value. There are more expensive alternatives, but I doubt they make any more power.
what type of fabspeeds? I found the website and am looking at the exhaust page, and looks like the header/muffler set of the fabspeeds? Anyone have these on their car?
Search!!!! This topic has been beaten to death a million times... you'll find more answers then you need in search... Of course, the usual favorites are PSE, GHL and fabspeed...
I just ordered my Fabspeeds from Dan at Vivid Racing. I got a discount b/c I am a Rennlist member(support the site). Vivid is a sponser--$810 w/o tips--$910 W/tips. I'll receive them this week. probably b/4 my car gets here..........Jeff
Brian at GHL also will give you the Rennlist %
(They did me well!) The car sounds so good with GHL's I have people ask what I've got on it. Also, they have the 4" BIG TIPS that look like the business end of the car, and sound good too.
If I'm not mistaken they have a policy, " If you don't like, they'll take 'em back!"
Can't beat that. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but It comes down to what you like the sound of. Performance isn't going to be noticed between either one IMHO, So get the GHL's and you will love the sound, if not call Brian!
