Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've installed jumper plug from eBay on my BMW when I installed Recaros.

Suggestion
While I do have a Durametric if I disconnect the battery for 20 minutes or so before removing the seats (unplugging seat belts) I don't get an airbag fault.
Leading evidence: 'Install jumper plug' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect battery' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

$150 for a Foxwell NT 510 worked for me to reset airbag lights.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have read some threads about the airbag light illuminating when you install a race seat in a 996 and that you need to go to the dealer to have it turned off. In my previous car (Mazda RX8) I would put the race seat in before a track day, get the airbag light, and then when I put the stock seat back in, the light would go out. If I want to swap seats between track days, will I need to have the dealer turn the light off each time?
It's true that the airbag light won't clear itself once it is tripped in these cars, even if the issue is resolved. You don't
need
the dealer to do it if you're willing to invest in a Durametric cable.

Or likewise a PIWIS or PTS2 clone. The point being - a simple code reader won't do it, it has to be a diagnostic tool of some sort.
If you're going to be doing this regularly then the tool is well worth the money as it has much more value beyond clearing lights.
Measure the resistance through the seatbelt buckle after you remove the seat. Then make a jumper to plug into the main connector to fool the computer until you reinstall the stock-seat.
I've installed jumper plug from eBay on my BMW when I installed Recaros. There seems to be a few for Porsche as well, for less than $10, although you can probably make it for less than that.
A missing seat belt receptacle will not be cured by a reset. It will need to be coded out with software that has coding capability (Durametric enthusiast version does not have this ability any longer
I didn't read the fine print when I bought mine).
I would love to find the jumper plug that has the correct resistance to fake it out. Anyone know the resistance? Or a link to the ebay part? I can't find anything.
Here is one I found by searching for "Porsche airbag simulator",

. Looks like literally a resistor with wire and clips attached to it. In comparison, BMW ones are a little cleaner as it plugs into the factory connector,

Thanks. I saw that but it seems to be for airbags not seat belt receptacle. I did some more research and found the resistance is 100 ohm. But I'm still verifying pin locations. If I figure it out I'll update.

It's easy to remove the seatbelt receptacles from the seats...just plug them in under your race seats and zip tie them in place? Or yes the resistor can work.
