I added a half quart figuring it was low and gauge was wrong, alarms went off and ran the hell out of it for another two days.

After one track day the check oil alarms go off on the way back to the hotel at normal driving, I did drive the wheels off it that day at track but not the first time that has happened!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2012 C-4 GTS. The oil gauge has been right on until my last oil change at 13,500 miles, and it has had 6 oil changes in its life. After one track day the check oil alarms go off on the way back to the hotel at normal driving, I did drive the wheels off it that day at track but not the first time that has happened! I checked the gauge and it says it is over the full line. I added a half quart figuring it was low and gauge was wrong, alarms went off and ran the hell out of it for another two days. Today, easy road driving it alarmed me again, checked level and gauge read over full line again. This time I drained a quart, gauge still reads high but warnings went away. What is going on here? This dipstick needs Porsche to put a dipstick in their cars, this is ridiculous! Any advice? Tomorrow I plan on draining oil, adding back 7 quarts (it calls for 7.9) and seeing what it says then. Heading for Nevada Open Road Challenge Friday and would like to know what my fluids are doing!
