Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
It's not difficult - check the owners manual for instructions and pictures.
Leading evidence: 'Check owners manual' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check owners manual' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suggestion
For example, the H3 LED bulb mentioned in the OP's post uses 5 watts of power from a 27 LED cluster, but unfortunately, ONLY produces 177 lumens of light.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone done this?
Original post quoted from cbracerx from 2015. Looked at the bulb but it seems to include an extra pig tail - not sure how to install.
Thanks!
Looks great - do you intend to use them as DRL's? To actually cut thru the fog the yellow lights do a much better job IMO. I have used the PIAA yellow Ion bulbs w/ success in all of my cars. If you don't have any fog where you live then it's probably not an issue.
I've worked in television production for more than 20 years and have experience will all types of lighting instruments. Basically, LEDs are very efficient, but requires a lot more quantity (i.e. individual LEDs) to produce the same about light output of standard Halogen bulbs.
For example, the H3 LED bulb mentioned in the OP's post uses 5 watts of power from a 27 LED cluster, but unfortunately, ONLY produces 177 lumens of light. A Halogen based H3 bulb produces about 1500 lumens of light, but requires 55 watts. The LED version will match the color temperature of the xenon light of the HID bulb on the Porsche, but it will NOT produce the same amount of light intensity which is counterproductive to why fog lamps are used in the first place.
Halogen bulbs produce a color temperature around 3200 Kelvin and that's why they look yellowish in color. If you really want to match the color and still produce the proper intensity, then get a Halogen bulb with a blue filter on it. Problem solved!
It's NOT always color temperature that promotes better visibility, but light concentration and intensity.
Cheers!
As b3 said, you want to look at the actual light output specifications in Lumen rating. This is the only number that counts if you actually want to see something or be seen.
The really good ones will usually have it's own voltage driver box that drives the led's.
I just did the LED for my parking lights today. It is a much better look. I hated the yellow park light temperature combined with my HID light. I am now looking to upgrade the high beams and fog light to LED as well. For now, the LED park light works well with the HID.
I spent roughly $150 over the winter and replaced every single exterior bulb (and some of the interiror bulbs) with LEDs along with the proper LED flasher relay and was very happy with the result. A simple mod to greatly update the look of the 996.
