Do I use BOTH the clamps provided by Fabspeed AND the existing clamps to connect the pipes to the catalytic convertor or just the Fabspeed clamps?

Suggestion
Yes, use just the 2 clamps that Fabspeed provided and when you have the by-passes lined up where you want them, tighten the clamps very securely.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The Fedex man just dropped off my Fabspeed By-Pass pipes. Two pipes I know and I feel like an idiot asking but just want to make sure since there were no instructions. Do I use BOTH the clamps provided by Fabspeed AND the existing clamps to connect the pipes to the catalytic convertor or just the Fabspeed clamps?
I bought a set of ramps, got the wrench with the extension, and WD-40 to take my mufflers out. Any other suggestions? I did a search and read as many threads but being the **** retentive blok that I am I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
Thanks and can't wait to get these bad boys on!!!
I dont know how it was assembled. I had a tuner place put them on...but i can say im very happy with the sound and quality of the product. They are unbelievable sounding
Good luck with them. I had both muffler and cat bypass, and they were unreal. I loved the sound but my word it was loud. I was afraid of getting pulled over so the stock exhaust was put back on. Let us know how you like it then!! Oh, the wife not liking it did play a MAJOR roll in my decision in the end.
Yes, use just the 2 clamps that Fabspeed provided and when you have the by-passes lined up where you want them, tighten the clamps very securely. Then, enjoy the sound!

Its loud but good--as long as u dont use car as daily driver --you're fine--
You dont really need ramps just a jack to lift 1 side at a time until the wheel is almost off ground to swing muffler out. You have to reach under to take off 3 nuts and wiggle it and roll it out onderneath car.. Ive done this twice-- from stock->PSE->fab muffler bypass. I never took off rear wheels but you could it might make thing easier.
Mike
I found it helpful to also remove the rear wheels. I was able to access the OE mufflers bolts much better with the wheels off, use jack stands on each side, then remove both rear wheels.
As roger said, use the clamps fabspeed provided you.
Then compliment the pipes with an SSK and have a smile from ear to ear for the rest of your life...
WHOA! Just installed my by-pass pipes this mornig. Surprisingly easy to take off the OE mufflers. Did have a hard time getting the right by-pass pipe in. It was a super tight fit with the cats but after a lot of pushing and wd-40 went in.
Man these puppies are LOUD! I hate to say this but maybe a little TOO Loud. Love the sound but feel like an idiot just cruising and everyone hearing you. You can hear every downshift, a blip of the throttle and you sound like your flooring it. Thank god I don't drive it everyday and I think I can get used to it but they are definitly loud....the Fabspeed video does not do them justice.
I just had some made at a local muffler shop for $40 to try out. Painted them with VHT black and they are pretty unobtrusive aesthetically. Whoa, is right. The idle is awesome. The sound when you tip in is incredible, but the steady state is mind-numbing. It'll be fine for the track, but it's too loud for me for every day and considering the exhausts (or lack thereof) I've had over the years, that's really saying something.
Yes I thought I was hard core and thought I wanted the car loud but these puppies are loud. Set off a car alarm and I wasn't even flooring it...yikes. I'm super nervous about getting pulled over due to the noise....no front plate, loud exhaust....i feel like a ticket is just waiting for me.
Russ,
Regarding the street, I'd be lying if I said I HATE to tell you so. However, having been passed by our buddy with that setup on the track, I can tell you that it does sound awesome as it pulls away.
