Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also installed the mute button on the right side of the shifter, I just uploaded those pics as well.

The PITA is drilingthrough the fire wall and running the sensor to the front and back.

P.S: there is a setting on the SRX that just shows the voltage ie "14 V" on the display.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just got a smokin' deal on the Passport SRX (with shifters) and want ideas on where to locate in the cabin. Possibly where the cup holder is (riad's), could I take a couple of the cd holders out? The whold CD holder? Any ideas appreciated. TIA! (will post on 6speed as well if that's OK).
Riad has one in his car. Do a search, I think he even has install pictures. The PITA is drilingthrough the fire wall and running the sensor to the front and back.
I talked to the installation techs at Hi-Fi Buys and they told me that they have done a few SR7 installs in the rear view mirror. Anyone have experience with this? I don't know how you could adjust the setting with this set up though. I am anxious to hear feedback because I am considering getting an SRX or SR7 soon.
I liked installing it in the cup holders because I never use the cup holders and it puts the radar in a better line of site.

Thanks guys...I had my mechanic tell me about a mirror install as well...though I need more info on this. Thanks riad...I saw your install and it is sweet!
Greetings,
Ive decided to have the srx installed in my 03 cab. The folks that are doing the install say that they dont usually install the display panel. They usually install a warning light in the dome light area, a remote mute and volume button, and a speaker for the audible warnings. I like the fact that it is totally stealth, but Im wondering if I would miss having the control panel readout or if it is needed for anything Im not thinking of.
Thanks for your input.
Kevin
Hi Riad,
Thanks for your input. I was thinking this would be like my v1 where I just leave it on auto and don't touch it. What settings are you inclined to change?
Well I turnes X-band off on mine.
All the local cop agencies use Ka or Laser so I eliminated a bunch of false signals that way.
I have my display pannel mounted by my right knee.
Easy for me to see (and switch off or mute if a cop is by the window) and impossible for the cop to see from my left.
Will post pics later
P.S: there is a setting on the SRX that just shows the voltage ie "14 V" on the display. I use that for camouflage
Instantly customize Passport for your unique driving preferences, including Power-On indication, Meter type, AutoMute, Brightness level, including full Dark Mode, Audio Tones, and selection of individual radar bands. Simply hold both buttons to enter Program mode, and quickly review or change your preferred settings. (Your settings are stored in memory, even when Passport is turned off or unplugged.)
Of course you wouldn't have to worry about the brightness...
Rob, I would think you could get the "4-hole" bat wing and install your mute button there. You could wire your mute button to a lighted OEM switch (like the PSM or door lock switch) to make even more stealth.
What you REALLY need is the
U-Boat Sonar
switch pictured below. It is the button directly above the
Periscope
switch!
Tim,
My mute button is just on the right side of the shift, I find it very easy to just drop my hand down and push the button instead of pressing it on the console.
Besides where would I put my passenger eject button??
