Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I want to share my experience with a leaking RMS as it is quit consistent. RMS will not leak a single drop when oil level on the dash gauge is 2 notches down from top. As soon as I top off the oil to the top mark the RMS starts to leak like crazy, more like a puddle under the car everyday. As soon as enough oil have leaked out enough to bring the oil level down to the 2nd mark from top, the RMS leak stops. Anyone with the same experience?

POST 2Original post

That's interesting to take note... Fortunately I do not have the issue on my 996, But, I do have a RMS leak, very small, on my Chevy S10 pickup truck. It's strange coz' it will leak for some time...then seem to almost stop. Now I wonder if it has anything to do with the engine oil level, perhaps you're right, it leaked enough that there's not enough to leak anymore. I'll check my oil level tomorrow.

POST 3Original post

as they said, its a feature, not a bug; to prevent u from over-fill

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Typically my RMS will start to leak starts after an oil change, or top off the oil level. That's when I notice the strange relation.
