Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have just purchased a 911 (996) 2000. My problem is I smell coolant when the car is at full running temp. There is no leaks and the system has just been backflushed and pressure tested what is the problem. The cap on the reservoir have been looked at the theards at fine and the reservoir is not cracked or leaking.

POST 2Original post

Serco, My 2000 (purchased Aug 04') had the same symptoms you describe. I never saw a drop and could not discern where the smell was emanating from. Dealer finally determined it was the cracked expansion tank. Hope it is an easy fix, whatever it is. RB
