Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hello, 1) i read few posts about this subject and i think that for my personal needs, lowering springs only will be the solution (also because original suspensions on my car are already good enough!). i was thinking of H&R springs, but i always find theme or 996 C4 or 996 Turbo... wich ones will fit my car? what about other manufacturers such as fvd, techart, etc etc? any ideas? 2) 5 or 7mm spacers? will i need longer bolts? (please note that italian laws are very strict about this and i wont be able to install anything thiker!) also, wich ones? original... h&r... fvd... etc etc.? and front + rear or other soltutions? thank you for your help. fabry

POST 2Original post

Ciao Fabry, I have no idea for the suspension so I will not mention anything. For the spacers, go for the Porsche one 5mm (they come with the bolts) or check the Carnewal web sites (7mm and bolts) or any other manufacturers in Europe (more address by PM if necessary). Prices are different of course but in any case you will have to buy special bolts for a safety point of view (do not forget the anti-theft one...). I have the Porsche ones on my 996 C4 the difference is minimum in terms of look but with pictures before after it is more obvious. Have a good day in sunny Italy !!! Could you post a few pictures of your car or direct me to the post where you put them before ?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

sunny italy' well, that was years ago... ehehe some pictures are here: http://www.porschemania.it/discus/me...tml?1159278405 (but they come directly from the porsche dealer and dont show the car at its best! i am now waiting to make new and better ones!)

POST 4Original post

Other then for looks and to fill out the wheel wells, do the spacers provide any performance upgrade or is it purely aesthetic? I'm thinking it does because it widens the track. I was thinking about do this mod as well. Would I need to get an alignment? tia

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i guess that 5/7mm wont affect performances... in case of a wider size, i think they will, but then could compromize car settings...

POST 7Original post

I'm using H&R spacers 7mm/Front and 14mm/Rear (they come with the longer bolts). Looks great IMHO (see my sig for link to more pics) and doesn't negatively affect handling whatsoever...the wider stance probably enhances cornering a bit.
