Can anyone recommend a good audio shop to help me with upgrading the stereo on my MY1999 996. I have a CDR 220 with the Bose/DSP. I upgraded from a CDR 210 to the CDR220 so that I could plug my ipod into aux input. I want to retain the head unit but replace everything else. The console has the cd trays and the DSP. What have others done with this space when they upgraded their stereos? From some of the other threads, I see that Audioinnovations comes highly recommended and I may purchase components from them but I am also looking for someone local to perform the installation. thanks, Oscar

I have had work done at Autosonics in Highland Park. There are always lots of high end cars there. They installed a Harmon Kardon TrafficPro in my 996 along with a Parrot Handsfree Bluetooth phone kit - - the work was great.

I'd call Mike from Onsite [phone removed]). He's out of Northbrook but will actually come out to you to do the work if you so desire. He's helped out a few people here on the boards with stereos, K40's, etc (check the 997 board). Great guy, great work, highly recommended. He did my satellite radio in my MB daily driver, integrated with factory nav.
