Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Hi guys,
Just wanted to update you guys on the car and coilover situation. Anyways, after working things out with Dan at vivid, the coilovers are finally installed and set up properly. I drove to their facility to have the suspension adjusted and tuned to the proper ride height. I got to meet Dan and his staff and have to say that he is one cool guy. He also hooked me up with their new Agency Power exhaust at a smoking deal!
I have to say that i'm really pleased with the results. The car handles way better than i had expected. I might even have to admit that the car out handles my old M3 with bilsteins. I can't really compare how bilstein feel on a porsche, but they definately felt better than the M handling wise. There's this road where i live that has lots of turns, and the p handled them effortlessly. Where as the M felt a little loose going around the corners at high speed, but the p tackled the corners with no problem. It might be because the porsche is better setup from the factory and these coilovers only enhanced their capabilities.
All in all, these were a drastic improvement over the stock suspensions. The car doesn't feel loose anymore and the lowered ride height really makes the car look more aggressive and the handling is greatly improved. The adjustments for the ride dampeners are fairly easy to adjust. The rears are on the top, and the fronts are on the bottom of the struts. I have the fronts set to 5 clicks and the rears 2 clicks(softer).
The ride quality for normal day driving is pretty good. Not too harsh with my setup, but stiff enough to tackle corners. You can definately feel the bumps, but they're not that bad or annoying.
While there getting the suspension adjusted, Dan showed me their new Agency Power exhaust for our 996s. The build quality looked really good, made from stainless steel. They were alot lighter than the stock exhaust. I figured what the heck, the car is already on the lift, why not install those exh as well. So Dan hook me up with a really good deal on them and on they went.
Vivid claims that they produced around 8-11hp. After driving the car it does feel that there is an increase in power through the butt dyno. The car definately feels quicker due to the increased throttle response i guess. I also have the K&N air filter and with the addition of the exhaust it felt quicker than before(-exh). The car just takes off and pulls really hard now. I enjoy driving the car now more than ever.
Prior to the intake, exhaust, coilovers i was really disappointed with how it drove. Even my brothers said that the m3 was better than the porsche, but the M already had every modification possible so it was hard to compare. Now that the p's got the toys, watch out. They absolutely love how the car drives now, like a real sports car!
AS for the exhaust note, i don't have a sound clip, but will try and record one for you guys.
