Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

He filled the scratches and then airbrushed them with matching grey dye, blending it perfectly.

For the tracks that require long trips to get to, I use it to haul family plus tires and tools while, believe it or not, I use the C4S to haul the luggage.

Yesterday, I was finally able to get it to the detailer's, a guy I've used for years.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've read a few threads in the archives about scratches and nicks in consoles and some despair about whether they can be fixed. That was my concern, too, with my new-to-me '00 C2. Yesterday, I was finally able to get it to the detailer's, a guy I've used for years. He filled the scratches and then airbrushed them with matching grey dye, blending it perfectly. I can't remember what he called this stuff, but he said it was fairly new technology. Anyway, it came out looking incredible, and he didn't even have to remove the console to do the work.
Point of the story is, if your console is scratched and nicked, might be worth talking to a detailer before you give up. Amazing what these guys can do.
(Don't yell at me for not having pictures. Still without a camera here...)
I didn't get to watch, unfortunately, other than the last bit of spraying. He called the paint 'elastomer' somethingorother. But I don't think it's proprietary. You just need to find a real detailer, the guys who do dealer work and insurance restoration work, not just the guys who wash and wax. I bet this is common. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
Sure, but be kind: It's a small shop... he'll go broke if he's on the phone all day!
It's Mike at Michaelangelo's Auto Salon in Toronto. His number is [phone removed].
I believe most dealers do have these "specialist" detailers. My Dodge minivan (yeah, I have a minivan), came back from the dealers after they did extensive AC work. I found a whole gaggle of scratches and a few deep ones on the inside door panels and dash that were not there before. I brought it back to complain, and the the Dodge dealer had a detail "specialist" come in, and made all the scratches just disappear. Looked great.
I suggest you call your local dealer.
Shhhhhhhhhh! Keep it quiet. I haven't come out of the closet yet as a minivan driver.
It's my family hauler. Best way to haul 4 kids around with the wife. For the tracks that require long trips to get to, I use it to haul family plus tires and tools while, believe it or not, I use the C4S to haul the luggage.
I also drive a Volvo S80T6, my winter car. So, I'm a Volvo and a minivan driver
. BUT, I sprout hair on my chest every spring when the P-cars come out of hibernation
.
Hmm... a desparate attempt to not sound like a soccer mom. Although, anyone with 4 kids deserves respect... especially if they have 4 kids and a Porsche.
