Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As some who attended our Open House last weekend, we presented to a few our new windshield protection film. It is a 4 mils thick polyester clear film w/ an ultra hard-coating on top that protects it from daily usage (windshield wiper blades, road debris, etc.). We just installed it on a Carrera GT whom the customer drove for 3 days and already experienced one marble sized rock that hit the film toward the top edge and not damage the glass. It did leave a minor scuff that is equivalent to a spec of sand. Below are some pictures of the film and its clarity. The film is thermally applied (heat shrunk) to the windshield to conform to the contour of the glass. If anyone here is familiar with window tinting, heat shrinking is a valuable technique in performing one piece installations. This is no different..........only that the windshield film is 3.5 times thicker than standard tint.........not easy to shrink at all. This product not only protects the glass from small debris that could crack and split the glass, but it also offers 99.9% UV protection. In addition, it adds an extra layer of protection to the occupants from road debris. The film does not affect visible light transmission, which means it will not alter the aesthetics or legality of "tint" on the windshield. We also offer our new high-line nano-technology ceramic film for all windows (including windshield). The film rejects up to 81% of infrared rays and blocks approximately 50%-60% of solar heat w/o the need to go with a dark shade. The most beneficial part of ceramic film is that it will not affect with wireless signals (gps, radio freq, etc.). We have the film in 60%, 50%, and 40%. Both our ceramic line and windshield protection film reduces glare by up to 50%, which is helpful for night time driving. Pricing will be based on vehicle glass size and difficulty. For more information about the products, please feel free to give us a call Monday-Sunday 10:30-6pm. Thanks guys!

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For those who missed our new facility's Grand Opening last weekend, here are some pics...........

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here are pictures of our high-line nano-technology ceramic film installed at 50% all around. At this shade, 50% of solar energy rejected, 99% UVs blocked, 78% infrared rejected, 60% glare reduced, wireless signal not affected, and film is ultra-clear.

POST 4Original post

I would definitely do this on my C4S, too bad you're 3000 miles away.

POST 6Original post

Is this legal in California? I heard that Cal. Vehicle Code prohibits having anything attached to to the windshield.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

California, technically, states that you in fact cannot place anything on the windshield. Reason for this is visibility. Taking this logic just another step though, is that the film is optically clear and does not affect visible light transmission.

POST 8Original post

What happens looking throught the windows with polarized sunglasses on? Sounds like your film is a polarized layer which gives a rainbow effect to those who wear polarized lenses.

POST 9Original post

Sam, can you please pm me pricing for both my GT3 and Cayenne? I just had my windshield replaced on the Cayenne and already picked up some nicks. My insurance company only covers me once per year on the windshieldl!!!

POST 10Original post

Is the ceramic window tint the huberoptic product?

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

BrendanC, no it's not. It's Madico's premier film.

POST 12Original post

Do you have an opinion on madico vs huberoptic?

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They are both nano-technology films that produces excellent solar heat reduction w/o a) having to go dark b) affecting gps signals. We have been using Madico window films for over 8 years now and it's known within industry leaders that Madico carries the clearest films around.

POST 14Original post

Hmm. Thanks for the info. I only know of one huberoptic installer, and you are in NorCal with the Madico. I always forget - the percentages are what again? How much light gets through or how much light is stopped? I understand the heat reduction is different though.

POST 15Original post

What happens on windshields that at not new and have some piting or wear and tear?

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

BrendanC - percentages we carry w/ our ceramic line is 61%, 51%, 43%, and 33% (VLT - visible light transmission). Tim Wasmer - pits and chips on the glass will show through the film as it is clear. The film does offer 99% UV blockages and minor heat reduction properties.

POST 17Original post

for someone in Los Angeles area, do you have a installer down here?

POST 19Original post

not sure how this works, but won't windshied wiper scratch the film ?

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

There is a hard topcoating to it that resists scratching from windshield wiper usage. Just a fyi, this product is not what some would think as paint protection film installed onto the glass. This is an ultra clear product that is designed for windshield application.

POST 21Original post

What is a price range for a normal 911 windshield?

POST 22Original post

Nano-Technology!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have tiny man made machines inside your tint controlling light transmission?
