Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So we get about an hour away from my house while heading up to Newport RI for the w/e and we stop for gas. Of course I shut the engine for the fill and when I go to start it back up...nothing. So after sitting there for 5 minutes with my thumbs up my **** I get the bright idea to push start it it. And that works no problem. I immediately recall a bunch of posts here and on renntech about faulty ignition switches and such so I call Jeff at Sunset (great guy. if you dont use him you should) and have him rush ship me a new ignition switch and steering lock to arrive mid next week. I also make the call to drive home and switch cars for the w/e so we don't have to look like the family in Little Miss Sunshine all weekend
That all happened Friday morning and we just got home now. And of course I have to start investigating how I am going to replace this ignition switch. So out comes a mirror and a flashlight and I start the investigation...only to find a ignition kill switch (yes I was told about it when I bought the car but of course I didnt recall that when I needed to)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess at some point my knee must have flicked the switch to the off position
And it turned out to be a beautiful top-down type of w/e
Anybody need a new ignition switch?
Jeff
I will ask him on Monday.
And yes, this is not a standard switch. Heck it doesn't even really operate the way a real kill switch should act. It should not kill the starter but rather the ability for the engine to fire. I will probably remove it next w/e.
Thanks,
Jeff
