This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
If you aren't the original owner, be sure to double check the numbers on the engine match up with the numbers on the vehicle, and that the original engine is still in the vehicle from the factory, otherwise if your engine implodes or explodes on you, they won't cover it...

they are there to take your money upfront and when your car breaks down, anything over a few hundred dollars, they will ensure to make sure your car is completely 100% in compliance with the terms and conditions or they won't pay or try their hardest to find some old cruddy part from a wrecking yard with a p-car that had 80k miles on it to replace the failed part with....

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looks like I'll keep my 00 996 rather than get killed by the current prices. Both these extended warranty companies look good; 1 Source is considerably cheaper than Warranty Direct---Any recomendations? Thanks in advance
1source and Warrant Direct won't pay for a replacement engine if you currently have a non-original engine in the vehicle. If you aren't the original owner, be sure to double check the numbers on the engine match up with the numbers on the vehicle, and that the original engine is still in the vehicle from the factory, otherwise if your engine implodes or explodes on you, they won't cover it... and you'll have to shell out all the costs.. same goes for all non original parts as far as i'm aware... many of these extended warranty companies have so much hidden wording in their disclaimers, you really have to watch out.. they are there to take your money upfront and when your car breaks down, anything over a few hundred dollars, they will ensure to make sure your car is completely 100% in compliance with the terms and conditions or they won't pay or try their hardest to find some old cruddy part from a wrecking yard with a p-car that had 80k miles on it to replace the failed part with.... or you will end up not having your vehicle for months, while they go back and forth with the mechanic, dealer, etc.. trying to figure out who's at fault etc... just be sure to read all the paperwork and disclaimers and terms, regardless of who you go with... also be sure to check with the bbb.. good luck
I was considering them, and have heard great things about 1source, but I didn't have an original engine in my car anymore, so using them wasn't an option..
bobporsche 996-Thank-you for the info.I'm pretty sure I have the original engine as I purchased the car with 4k mi. but I'll go out to the garage now and check...hope I can locate the #'s.Thanks-again as I too am wary of these companies
Lay on your back and squeeze yourself under the engine, drivers side of the engine case. There is a small raised section of the casting w/ the #'s stamped in. Match those to your Cert. of Authenticity(That's what I did). Could be several other ways as well but I'm not sure.Hey guys! what about these warranty company recommendations?!!
