Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am trying to find back end photo comparison on the 911 996 models. Are the wide body styles only available on the C4S models or are they also available on the Coupe S models. Cheers and safe driving.

POST 2Original post

no, wide body is from turbo and also on C4S. try looking at cars on ebay.

POST 3Original post

To further clarify this: C4 = Narrow body C4S = Wide Body C2 = Narrow Body Turbo = Wide Body

POST 4Original post

This should help... The wide is a C4S, the narrow is the C2 in 40th Anniversary wrap.... Cheers.

POST 5Original post

Here is an overlay of a turbo (widebody) over a C2 (nattowbody) Not that much difference when viewed from above.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Great.....thanks for the response. Now......... which brings me to the reason for asking. Is the wide body on the C4S and turbo strictly for aesthetical reasons or does it need a wider frame to accomodate the engine schematics. I can see that being true on the turbo but why the C4S? Cheers

POST 7Original post

The C4S widebody is purely for marketing reasons.

POST 10Original post

Fat bottom girls make the rockin world go 'round....can't wait to see the 997 widebody

POST 11Original post

Orient, that was a cool overlay... But it looks like the narrower car has openings a la Turbo after the door? That cannot be true!

POST 12Original post

Yeah, its wide, but not distinctively wide like the 930 flares! Hopefully this is corrected at least somewhat with the 997 widebody.

POST 13Original post

There is a little more to a C4s than just wide body. Turbo brakes, sport suspension, larger wheel and tires all come to mind. Granted, I still think it needs a little more power!

POST 14Original post

No that is the turbo car. The parallax is not exactly right on the 2 images, (the C2 is not exactly straight with the Turbo) but you can see that from the B pillar forward, the car is the same, but to the rear it is wider.

POST 17Original post

go to 6speedonline.com and search for widebody. There have been a few members that performed a widebody conversion to the C2 http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/s...light=widebody

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
