You are not that fellow we ran into there one night that lives in Wyckoff are you?

I was over there about two weeks ago test drving the red '03 C4S they had over there.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well...after much test driving of cars in the area, searching the internet and papers, angst over whether it really is a good idea to do this when I have a perfectly good MR2 Spyder sitting in the driveway etc.
I thought I was looking for a Cabriolet but each time I saw one on the road the ones that really stirred my soul were the coupes - I guess that is my boyhood dream coming back. After several test drives of this car, plus a host of others, I was finally convinced.
The car is an immaculate Lapis Blue '03 C4S:
Full Leather
Self Dim Mirrors
Xenon Headlamps
Heated front seats
Bose CD Changer
Sports Exhaust (factory installed so it has the quiet button)
Carbor highlights (sills and gear **** is all I noticed)
Lighted visors
Crest on wheels
Supple Leather (whatever that means)
Foot well lighting
I'll probably pick it up some time next week and I will, of course, be a basket case until then.
I'll post pictures when I get it.

P.S. Anyone want to buy my 2001 Spyder cheap?
Thanks eveyone.
One question. I have small kids (6, 4 and 1). Does anyone know if you need kids booster seats for the rear from a legal standpoint - they look pretty small anyway.
Thanks!
Barry
Congratulations, sounds like a gorgeous car. Enjoy!
Re child seats, I am almost certain you need child seats, at least for the 4 and 1 year olds, and possibly a booster for your 6 year old (I think this depends on height and weight). If you search the forum for "child seat", you will find several long threads with lots of background on child seats.
Thanks!
Actually, the MR2 is a great car. It can't compete with a 911 (obviously) but in the bang for buck stakes it is right up there. Just don't try to drive it on the stock tires in the snow!!!
I've been walking round with a cheshire cat grin all day - and I haven't even got it yet!
I forsee the days until I get it dragging and my ability to focus on work etc. is going to be poor to say the least.
Of course the next thing will be that I want to AutoX the damn thing...
Barry
Thanks! I think given a bigger budget the C4S Cab. would have been the car but...I just could't quite swing it. I looked at a number of cabs including a C4 cab this morning (2000 year). My wife was a big fan of getting another rag top but eventually it all came down to how the car felt to drive and this one felt fantastic - lots of punch everywhere, nice tight handling, great brakes...ahhh I am just remembering the experience again.
It is also chearper to insure and since I live in NJ and have...ahem...a few points that was a factor to be considered.
All in all though I am VERY happy with my decision. Maybe in a couple of years I'll be able to trade up.
Barry
Congrats, and a great choice. I've had my 03 C4S for a year now, a truly awesome vehicle, you'll love it. Also, I am glad another soul in this universe is going to feel why there truly is no substitute.
Why...YES! That is it....
OK...is this the part where you say something like - "Oh, you didn't buy THAT car did you? You know they rebuilt that after..."
Barry
No, nothing like that. It was offered to me buy a guy by the name of Jason over there - nice guy. I was over there about two weeks ago test drving the red '03 C4S they had over there. What a dream. Anyway, the price was a little too much for me and I think silver is more of my color. Good Luck with yours!
Yes, I also dealt with Jason...and I also took the red '03 C4S out. As I recall that only had about 3,000 miles on it and was a lot more money.
The driving impression of the '03 that I bought was the same and seemed (to me) just better than the other cars that I took out. The car feels very solid.
Good luck with whatever you buy.
Barry
P.S. You are not that fellow we ran into there one night that lives in Wyckoff are you?
You are 100% right about the car feeling very solid.
I live in Roseland.
I'm curious to know if you will join the Northern NJ Region Porsche Club of America -

. I know that would be one of the first things on my mind, getting her into some action.
