Gang: Just wanted to know if there is anyplace else to shop except the TireRack? Most places seem to get them FROM the TireRack so the cost more. I am buying a set of Conti's for the front of the C4S. Any other suggestions? Tim

In the last few years I've usually used Discount Tire. They would always meet or beat Tire Rack, without the shipping hassles to an unknown installer, etc. Discount Tire is also very good at properly torquing wheel bolts to spec and protecting the wheel surfaces. Alas, my last experience with them a couple of months ago was not as good. They would only meet (not beat) Tire Rack's price, then added on enough BS charges that it was actually more expensive. So I may go back to Tire Rack next time, if they can ship them to an installer I'm comfortable with. Andy

After messing around with a bunch of tire people, I just use Tire Rack now. Their prices are fine, their website is simple, their shipping is fast, and they ship the tires to a local mom-and-pop alignment shop where I know the guys who mount them. It amounts to small shop service with big chain prices. Steve 99 996 00 M5

in boston, direct tire is a good place. if they don't carry the tire they'll order anything you want. and i usually bargain them down to about $1300 a set including mounting and balancing.
