Suggestion

It will be much more difficult to sell it with the supercharge, and he could always sell the supercharger later here on rennlist or any other Porsche forum, Im sure theres alot of people interested on a low used supercharge unit.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will be interesting to see what a supercharged 996 will go for! Evo Supercharged 996 on Ebay

POST 4Original post

very nice car!!! but being sold to make room for a new carrera GT? huh? why would you be selling this car to make room for a garage queen? though this car seems like a garage queen too with only 14K miles on it...

POST 5Original post

It would be easier for him for take out the supercharger system and sell the car as stock. It will be much more difficult to sell it with the supercharge, and he could always sell the supercharger later here on rennlist or any other Porsche forum, Im sure theres alot of people interested on a low used supercharge unit. Ofcourse going to the mess of taking out the supercharger would cost him some money in labour, but the number of possible interested buyers would increase considerably and the value of the car would remain exactly the same. He could even talk to Todd and Im sure in now time Todd would arrange a client for his used unit. As to the rest of the mods, theyre a must, and adds a real value to this beautiful car, I think those mods are very teasteful and shows that ben is a man of good taste J.Seven

POST 6Original post

Thanks J. FWIW, the car is not a garage queen by choice. Even though it's only been driven 8k miles in the last 3 years (the first 7k happened in under the first year), I drive it every chance I get. We live in a community where I can walk to just about everything (fed ex, bank, post office, hair cut, dentist, ocean, etc). It's not something I feel comfortable driving to soccer games where my teamates are 25 year olds who are mainly engineers just starting out. It's not something that holds lots of materials when I'm busy fetching them for the home building project I've been working on for a year and a half. But, whenever there is a chance to drive it, I most definetely do. The CGT will be driven exactly the same. I hate that the car sits so much in the garage which causes me periodically to contemplate selling it. That said, given the baby can't ride in the CGT for quite some time (no back seat), I'll probably keep the 996 too unless I get a very fair offer for it. The car is set up perfectly and looks great IMO and it'll be very hard for me to let it go (even though we've just about completed the transition from all PIA black cars to easy silver/gray ones). It's the 2nd longest (only a couple months off the 1st longest) I've ever had a single car, and it's for good reason.

POST 7Original post

Ben: nice car, no need to explain your low mileage. my 76 930 only has 36k, which I believe works out to about 100 miles a month since new. Steve 99 996 (11k) 76 930 (36k)

POST 8Original post

Hey Ben, I can't imagine not being happy with that car. What a sweet ride. I always feel sad when I sell a car I've loved. I can't remember, but didn't you mention in another thread you were looking for something like 65k for it?

POST 9Original post

"I can't remember, but didn't you mention in another thread you were looking for something like 65k for it?" "Kind of". Truth is I don't have any idea what it's worth which is why I put it up on Ebay in an auction format. I could easily get more than $65k just taking the car back to stock (save for the brakes), selling the GT3 seats, GT3 suspension, supercharger, lightweight flywheel and stronger clutch, etc. I'd much prefer though that it go to a good home where someone appreciates what I've created just like it is.

POST 10Original post

Hey Ben, Who put the SC in for you? Was it done at AJ USA? If so what do you think of those guys? Their knowledge? Their attention to detail? Quality of work...

POST 11Original post

The work was actually done by Evo (the supercharger manufacturer and stronger clutch/lightweight flywheel supplier) themselves in Arizona.
